These 2-10-0 locomotives were a subsequent manufacturing order to that of TCDD Nrs. 56001-79, built in Germany in WWII. They are identical except that they were built in Great Britain. The order was placed before the war but could not be fulfilled until 1948
Sorry, this is a bit repetitive I know, but this is the other end of the station and at least I've saved you all that shoe leather.
The city of Gaziantep, with a population of more than two million in southeastern Anatolia, currently has only two "island" passenger services operated by TCDD. There is no scheduled service on the line to Narli to the TCDD network. However, a new line from Adana is under construction.
Since 2022, Gaziantep has a 25 km long, electrified commuter rail system with at least 30-minute frequencies, called "Gaziray" (a cooperation between TCDD and the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality). On the other hand, TCDD operates a single pair of passenger service with MT5600 (Sakarya) DMU railcars on the 49 km Gaziantep-Nizip section of the Narli-Karkamis line. The railcar departs Gaziantep in the late afternoon and returns to Gaziantep from Nizip at 7:00 a.m. On the evening of September 21, 2025, the double DMU MT5606 and 5609 could be photographed as Bölgesel 62712 Gaziantep - Nizip near Küllü.

TCDD's Class DH 27 diesels were a six-axles version of the West German Class V200 diesel locomotive, and of a similar design delivered to Yugoslavia
The class had a body design with a single center cab, and two long hoods housing each a Maybach MD655 V12 diesel engine. Each engine was located above a bogie and transmission to the wheel was via Voith transmission. The locomotives were geared for heavy gradients, resulting in a top speed of only 100 km/h
Three German units were purchased in 1961 and tested as an alternative to TCDD's American locomotives. Although they performed well, no additional units were ever ordered and instead, the order was placed with General Electric
All three locomotives remained in regular service in Turkey until the early 1980s

In the summer of 2025, the Malatya-Toprakkale line was reopened after the earthquake-related closure. However, the lack of electrification and signaling in some sections means that only one or two trains per day are possible. Therefore, most iron ore trains from Demirdağ to the Payas steelworks/port continue to take the detour via Kayseri and Adana. On this line the trains have to pass through the Taurus Mountains with the famous Varda Köprüsü on the southern ramp. On the afternoon of September 22, 2025, TCDD E43011 and 43030 ran over the 99 m high viaduct with an empty northbound Omsan iron ore train.
