The much maligned Starling isn't a popular bird with many people. However, the sheens in the plumage when caught by the sunlight are sublime.

Watercolor painting on 1/8 sheet. I'm continuing with my experimentation with paint colors that I don't use as much. This is done with naphthal red, quinacridone violet and bismuth yellow, all M. Graham paints. I like the naphthal red and will use it again. I found the quin violet kind of hard to work with but it's a pretty color.
