There were the most amazing clouds! I found a spot where I wouldn't have a lightpole or street sign to make the shot. I purposefully overexposed the bright cloud and we can see the circle of the sun among the darker clouds. Then the birds arrived, unexpectedly... They'd been entirely absent from the previous shot! Another example of serendipity at work... I love it when these things "work out"!
It would have been a nice shot in any case, but the birds add a certain "je ne sais quoi" at two different places in the frame. They change the "meaning" of the image...becoming points of interest.

This was just magical. The sun hitting the loch (Loch Achaidh na h-Inish) and water evaporating off. Beautiful.
