Tower Bridge. This was one of two steam engines used to raise the bascules of the bridge before it was converted to electric power. It is now preserved in its original location in the Tower Bridge exhibition and open to the public.

Steam swirls around the engine house as Nevada Northern 93 starts to creep out into the yard.

Diver's controls, Denver &Rio Grande class K-28 no 473. I don't know that most of the valves do but I can identify the regulator (with ratchet), the reverser, maybe the sanders valve (bottom right), the train air brake (above and to the left of that), and maybe the loco air brake (to the left of the reverser lever). Whistle lanyard top right.

Caledonian Railway No.828 climbs Eardington Bank with the 1210 Kidderminster to Bridgnorth at the Severn Valley Railway's Autumn Gala on September 24 2011. The loco was on loan from the Strathspey Railway.

This scene depicts a woman working to clean off the headlight on the steam engine. This was a common sight in the 40s, back when men were leaving the US to go to war.

Taken on an early visit to the GWSR, for a Santa Special. Little did I know 6 years later I'd be volunteering on the same railway. :-)

The old crank and crankshaft are at the top; new shaft and collar used to drill the pin hole at the bottom.

Trip to Chicago History Museum and Lincoln Park Zoo with dad, armed with cameras. Absolutely beautiful day.

Sunday 29th June 2014 on the Brecon Mountain Railway. At Pontsticill is a small but interesting museum. On display was “Redstone” a 1’11¾” gauge 0-4-0 Vertical Boiler Tank Engine. It was built by a Mr Redstone at Penmaenmawr, North Wales in 1905.
