Great Central Railway Winter Gala
The McLaren Steam Tractor in the background is a vintage beauty, but this is a real steam powered streamroller. This model was in fact manufactured in Tasmania in the 1920s and was used in road construction for a couple of decades.

“I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move.”
~ Robert Louis Stevenson
After a quick stop to pick up passengers and then an impressive departure from Port Clinton just a mile or so around the curve from this location, former Reading T-1 #2102 is back underway for Jim Thorpe as she storms up the straightaway as seen from the shoulder of the Rt 61 bridge. This was a famous location during the Reading Rambles in the 1960s although more off to my right as trees weren't invented at that point.
Some neat old tractors from this show a couple of years ago. Now It's time to go to this year's show.
