Sun backlight, 60x60cm softbox camera left at 1m50 or 2m of the subject. Triggered via RF-603, manual mode. Cheap 18-105mm lens. Taken just in front of the hairdresser's for very amateur shooting. Had to be quick, was on the road, lot of wind with my poor softbox going to fall. 1st shooting outside ... I've got to buy some bags for the stand :D 1st shooting for service purpose btw. Excellent model with a great attitude, amateur too.

Model: Amanda K

Lighting info: Speedlite 580 II through a softbox above the modell.

Format: RAW

Processing: Capture One, "Dodge and Burn" and Nik Software Efex Pro.

So here it is, my very first portrait. Got a friend of mine to model even though is was freezing cold outside. :)

Nothing spectacular about this picture, but I thought I`d share it and maybe get some comments if I`m lucky. This is my first photoshoot ever and I had only been trying a couple of shots with the softbox before this shoot.

My Sunpak and Soft Umbrella are now broken in pieces because of the wind blowing over the stand. Thankfully I'm getting a 52" Softbox and another Sunpak 544 to replace it.

I'll also hopefully be posting huge news soon so stay updated!

Was going to shoot in the studio but it was apparently already in use, forcing us to shoot at other locations. These are the main steps in Fulton art school of liberal arts. Extension cords galore allowed us to bring a b800 with softbox on a giant crane stand. Reflector bottom. I would've liked to have gotten the reflector closer but it was not possible with the cruddy stand or tight space. Abby did a fine job though, she seems to be very comfortable in front of the camera, and thankfully did a decent job of keeping me awake through the shoot. Smiling came easy as some sort of choir was practicing in the background, adding a bit of an interesting dimension to the shoot...

La locura es un don, que solo los locos disfrutamos!!

Had a nice portrait session last night. I finally got to use my softbox along with the setting sun. I really like these results! Love the flare from this old zoom!

this is the set up of the pipe shot - three photogenic lights powered way down, a fake floor and a little piece of paper keeping the pipe still. The overhead lighting is pretty aggressive and would not work in many situations.
