Finally a let up in work and I can pick up my camera again! And have some time to enjoy everyone else's work too...happy days! I celebrated by stopping off in a local park on the way home last night and found a few of these brown argus butterflies willing to pose for a while.

quiet footsteps
not forgetting the path
up toward light
from a walk in the forest yesterday
it's surprising what else walks there :-)
forgive me for deleting group comment codes...
they're not my thing.. tho I do appreciate the visit!
not really! We went on a walk, got filthy and finished the day off with a car ride in the rain. Perfect! I hope it doesnt come down to a complete quarantine. For now its advised that we only go out into public as its needed for food. So...weve been taking off to the woods, no one ever goes there anymore ;) Stay healthy and safe yall!
Day 174/365:
Some more of the flowers we bought to brighten up the garden.

As I tested slower shutter speeds to see the rain’s effect, an immature White-crowned sparrow (Zonotrichia leucophrys) landed and took off from the Joe Pye (Eutrochium purpureum) blooms.
I like to shoot action photos at 1/2000, at least, for clarity, and deal with ISO later if I can. This frame followed the one in the first comment by less than a second, I think.

Day 249/365:
Crazy Tuesday - Libraries and books.
I know I did a high key version a couple of weeks ago but all's fair in a 365. This is a blend of two images, I took one of the closed book which came out very dark with some bright highlights and decided to see what it would look like blended with the book page heart. HCT

I'm making a start on designing my Christmas cards and tags for this year. This is a close up of some of the tags.

My husband has quite the green thumb...and he loves bringing home flowers he knows I'll like. Coneflowers are an especially pretty flower to me. This was taken about six years ago, but I thought they were especially pretty. Hope you enjoy!

This fruit specimen of the Chinese lantern (Physalis alkekengi, Solanaceae) was shot in my "studio" set up on my kitchen counter for shallow depth of field to produce soft bokeh bubbles. The fruit was from a plant growing on the campus of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Although the small, orange berry inside the papery husk is edible, it is not esteemed as food compared to most of the American derived Physalis species including the tamatillo (Physalis philadelphica) and the many smaller ground cherries such as the Cape gooseberry, the aguaymanto (Spanish), and camapu (Portuguese). P. alkekengi is the only Physalis species native to Asia where it is naturally distributed from Central Asia to Japan. It has been introduced in the Americas where it is naturalized in the eastern U.S. and Canada.
NOTE: The geotag is for the location of where the fruit was collected.

Not only we like to be seduced by sweet fruits – flies of all kinds are also magically attracted ... Hopefully they leave us something – these blackberries still have to ripen a bit until they are deep red to black. There were already some to eat ;-) This year it's so warm that unfortunately many are drying up ...

Macro Monday - Treasured
The treasures here are my original wedding ring that no longer fits, and a watch chain fob that belonged to my husband's grandfather. They are resting on a vintage book. HMM
I have been absent from Flickr for a couple of weeks. I think it's the longest I've gone without posting but life has been hectic and my mojo is still showing no sign of returning. I doubt I will be able to catch up with all your images from the last couple of weeks but will do my best to comment on the most recent.
Dew, wind, and sunshine battled for dominance on this newly planted perennial to attract more bees and hummingbirds.
This new red blossom tops a promised hardy plant called Jacob Cline Bee Balm (Monarda Didyma). And it is presumably deer resistant ... somehow.
Day 112/365:April 2022: A month in 30 pictures
I thought I'd use my pigeon eggshell again, this time with some clematis seed heads from my garden.
It's freezing in the Netherlands, minus 6°C :) Did a nice walk on ice in the park and played with a shallow depth of field and a low point of view. Added some Lightroom adjustments to make it more painterly :)
I took my old Nikon out for a walk on Friday. It still seems to be on the working end for now. I haven't taken it out to properly shoot it since it err'd me for the last time 2 years ago. A shot here and there every once in a while seems to be ok. Needless to say, my wrist still hurts from the weight of the beast but my gracious im pretty sure I still love her. She will always have my heart! HSS everyone!

One of the few 'active' fountains these days in the city (most are shut down during the winter). It's rather a pond with water lilies and dragonflies in the summer.
Seen in the Botanical Gardens - no opulently flowing water, mind, but enough to try to freeze the movement.
Glad I had my camera with me when I went to an appointment in the city yesterday : ))

Sterne. Manchmal fallen sie direkt vom Himmel ins tiefe Meer.

"As you know, things are usually difficult to understand from a distance – and we marvel at the sparkling glow. And nothing is lost." I had to think of this song "Stars" by Dota Kehr and the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm "Sterntaler". I think both are so fabulous that I don't want to add anything. So I quickly scoured my little treasure chests for stars. There had to be some left over from my daughter's handicrafts from toddler days long ago ;-) So very small ones that look like glass, with a silver back ... From this, and from a few other ingredients, for my part now I tinkered this sky and the deep sea ...

Populus tremuloides is a deciduous tree native to cooler areas of North America, one of several species referred to by the common name Aspen. (Wikipedia)
In my rainy element. As shot from RAW, except to convert to black and white. The vivid green and yellow hues in the rain looked too bright; I'll post at some point.
Thanks for looking! Comments unnecessary. Aspen trees and rain aren't to everyone's taste.

Agapanthus means 'flower of love' and is derived from the Greek agape meaning 'love' and anthos meaning 'flower' :))

for example, when finding beauty in rust and moss ...
this is a rusty, mossy screw head on a weathered green fence post - seen on a Sunday stroll through the spring fields ... and I couldn't resist its rugged beauty : ))
Wishing you a lot of small (and big) moments of happiness and joy !!
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking time to make a comment - very much appreciated <3

I'm in the process of clearing out all kinds of things. Lots of magazines, old paper samples, print proof copies and, above all, office paperwork – yes, even books will still have to believe in them ;-) – end up in the paper garbage can. And since metal has no place in the waste paper, I neatly pulled off these old paper clips. And I will probably keep these little ones, at least the unbent ones – even if I will most likely not use them anymore. An outdated method – because: who still prints something today and then staples it together?
