And my carpet. I think they fit together perfectly. Unfortunately, the bouquet gets in the way here – on the way over the carpet, out through the kitchen door and into the garden. Where hopefully the sun will shine for the next few days ;-)

Unfortunately, one of our gang of four died suddenly. For a little while after, the remaining horses would wait expectantly at the paddock gate for their missing and much missed friend.

Too much sun can create turbulence for the brain. So that everything spins and you think you're going crazy. Here it is called "having a sunstroke". And that's actually not funny – it can be dangerous. So it is a practical avoidance strategy to place something intertwined on your head ;-)

Ingredients: straw hat (it always hangs right next to the patio door and sometimes I put it on), red cardboard (to show the intensity of the sun's power and the shadow play), sunlight (we're very lucky here, the sun is shining and it's not raining)

It was a lovely frosty morning yesterday and I managed 10 minutes out in the garden at work with my camera (shh...don't tell my boss!! 😉 )

At the moment I can only think of such titles – sorry ;-) I found this small gathering of spring messengers here in early February together with my husband on a photo walk. At that time we did not think about social distance or quarantine and what is to come ...

We were lucky, this flower is very rare. The spring knot flower (spring snowflake) is a sub-Mediterranean subatlantic plant of the floodplain and mixed deciduous forests and is strictly protected. The northern limit of natural distribution in Germany corresponds approximately to the Hanover – Wittenberg – Cottbus line.

I will now do a birthday serenade very quickly (because your day will not last long ...) and toast you with chilled rosé ... I wish you all the best and love and that everything stays in the green area ;-)

PS: I see a little bit of a green man here – that fits your penchant for extraterrestrials quite well :-) And the one hook reminds me a little of Captain Hook – but that shouldn't be intentional – you'd better get accompanied by Peter Pan in the new year ...

Happy birthday, dear Silke !!!

Day 178/365:

Macro Monday - Tea

Definitely dreaming - Favourite drink

I bought this Jubilee tea from a lovely little shop in Norfolk. It consists of black tea, dried peach and mallow flowers. It's delicious but unfortunately it's a limited edition tea so I may not be able to get more. It's definitely my favourite tea. I bought the tea spoon from Teavana during one of our trips to America, back when we used to travel. HMM

Explored September 28, 2021

I tried. I really tried to knot beautiful knots all Sunday evening. I have a box full of paracord in different colours which I've bought for a camera shoulder strap project, but I never got beyond making a few wrist straps so far. I tried (the operative word is tried) to make a few Celtic style knots with the paracord, also surgical knots, the monkey's fist knot (which ended up looking like an exploding Death Star)... Let's admit it, I'd be lost if I were to rely on my knot knotting abilities. What I succeeded in was inadvertidly tangling up a very thin golden necklace (each link is only 1 mm / 0.039 inches long) which I've borrowed from my Mother for the theme. The necklace now has knots where I've never intended them. I suppose I'll be in serious trouble if I don't manage to un-knot the necklace. But I have my photo ;)

Image taken with the Lensbaby SOL 22 (equipped with the 16mm extension tube) which came to my MM rescue today. I had the necklace tangled up on a black tile, and chose the two nicest looking knots as main subject. For illumination I've used a yellow light from the left, and a handheld (upper right position) flashlight which I've shone through the blue tealight holder for a rather nice electric blue effect. Processed with the usual suspects DXO PhotoLab 4, Color Efex, Analog Efex, and Luminar AI.

Happy Macro Monday, Everyone!

So today my minds are with my father! He past away almost 2 years ago. And today is his Birthday.

You past away but my memories still are here. And a person is just gone if we do not think about him anymore. Today the 14th of November is your Birthday and i keep our lifetime moments in my heart! I visited you this morning and told you i share a picture for your remembrance.

Tracks in the sand

One night I had a dream:

I was walking along the sea with my master.

Against the dark night sky

shone, like streaks of light,

images from my life.

And each time I saw two footprints in the sand,

my own and my master's.

When the last image passed my eyes

I looked back.

I was startled to discover

that in many places of my life's journey

there was only a trace to be seen.

And those were the hardest times of my life.

Concerned, I asked the Lord:

"Lord, when I began to follow you,

you promised me

to be with me in all my ways.

But now I discover

that in the hardest times of my life

there is only a trace in the sand.

Why did you leave me alone

when I needed you most?"

Then he answered, "My dear child,

I love you and will never leave you alone,

especially in times of need and difficulty.

There, where you have seen only a trace

you have seen,

I have carried you."

The phrase actually means "everything's rosy in the garden" in English – "everything in the green area" is what they say in German ... It's still rosy here in autumn, the roses are still trying hard, the temperatures are also quite pleasant, it gets darker and therefore cozy, the sun peeks out and the grass still shines in the fresh green – like here under the autumn leaf, which forms a protective roof for the blades of grass after it has sailed down – all a reason to feel good ;-)

///

Hello All,

I've always enjoyed all of the varied stages of a flower's development. This nearly-formed flower attracted my attention during a walk in the neighbourhood. I thought the petals looked like fingers ... I guess I am a hopeless romantic.

Thank you Lou for the ID! I am so appreciative of my Flickr friends who help me out in so many ways! Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta)

Thank you so much for your views and for leaving a comment. I do appreciate hearing from you! Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for all your lovely comments and faves, most appreciated.

I thought it was a good day to buy grocery store spray roses to brighten my kitchen and of course take pictures of with my new 105 mm.

Strike those lovely orange-headed matches! No...it would be a shame to use them. They're too pretty.

Time flies:

This is a garland with little hearts (already a bit yellowed), pearls and a metal-reinforced thread and was part of a wedding decoration. I didn't want to throw it away, so I wrapped it around a glass candlestick filled with tiny glass beads and we are using it when celebrating our wedding anniversary or birthdays :))

Crazy Tuesday - theme of August 25, 2020: Birthday/Celebration

HaPpY CrAzY Tuesday, everyone !!

#SlidersSunday

Anything goes 2021 - photograph a pet. Sadly I don't have any pets since we lost our dear old golden retriever, Bruno, in December.

Kelsea owns my friend Coleen. Coleen and Kelsea very kindly let us stay with them during our trip to Canada. I was looking through some travel pics and discovered that I hadn't posted this one. I'm sure you will agree that Kelsea is too beautiful to stay hidden in my archives.

Apologies for being behind with comments, I'm not on Flickr very much at the moment, that darned mojo has gone walkabout again. So please don't feel the need to comment as I am unlikely to be able to reciprocate much right now.

Finally a let up in work and I can pick up my camera again! And have some time to enjoy everyone else's work too...happy days! I celebrated by stopping off in a local park on the way home last night and found a few of these brown argus butterflies willing to pose for a while.

not really! We went on a walk, got filthy and finished the day off with a car ride in the rain. Perfect! I hope it doesnt come down to a complete quarantine. For now its advised that we only go out into public as its needed for food. So...weve been taking off to the woods, no one ever goes there anymore ;) Stay healthy and safe yall!
