Actually more of a pre-pandemic EDC item: a stainless steel toothpick with a blade made of 925 silver ( 4 cm / 1,5 inches long ).
Since antiquity it has been known that silver has anti-bacterial and desinfectant qualities which makes it a good material for a re-usable toothpick, I guess. Not that I have used it all that much in restaurants recently, because for obvious reasons I haven't eaten out much since the pandemic started. But it's one of those extra Everyday Carry Items I usually always have with me, in a small pouch so it will always stay clean in my bag. Other extra EDC items are: camera with extra battery, an assortment of adhesive plaster, one or two safety pins, paper handkerchiefs, a very small vintage, composable screwdriver (nice for fixing the tiny screws on the hinges of my eyeglasses), a miniature Swiss pocket knife, a nail set with file and scissors, a small wooden comb, chewing gums, and the pandemic usual suspects: a bottle of anti-viral desinfectant, and a spare mask. And no, I haven't been a girl scout ;) The small screwdriver had been my first choice for the theme, but it didn't look as interesting in close-up as this toothpick and its small steel case with their nice surfaces, textures and reflections.
Single shot, illuminated from the left with a yellow light, from the right with an LED lamp without colour filter, and slightly form the front with an LED flashlight that emits a blue-ish light, and processed in DXO PhotoLab 5 and Analog Efex.

At the moment I can only think of such titles – sorry ;-) I found this small gathering of spring messengers here in early February together with my husband on a photo walk. At that time we did not think about social distance or quarantine and what is to come ...
We were lucky, this flower is very rare. The spring knot flower (spring snowflake) is a sub-Mediterranean subatlantic plant of the floodplain and mixed deciduous forests and is strictly protected. The northern limit of natural distribution in Germany corresponds approximately to the Hanover – Wittenberg – Cottbus line.

I don't know. Does this make any sense at all? I guess not ;) You might wonder what you're looking at. HAL turned into a flower power hippie? I really wasn't sure what to do for the theme, tried various things, didn't like any – you know the story.
Then I stumbled upon my Mom's old collapsible linen tester / thread counter. And of all possible and (un)likely things I put a withered aster blossom behind it. Why, when a thread would have been the obvious choice? I really don't know. I considered doing a two image focus stacking, one image with focus on the tiny tubular flowers at the centre of the blossom, and one with the thread counter in focus. But then I thought "One shot has to do." Plus I kind of like the strange-looking thread counter and petal bokeh. I hope you like it, too, although I could understand if you didn't ;)
I didn't do much processing here, just the necessary RAW development in DXO, and then added a slightly matte look in Analog Efex.
HMM, Everyone!

Too much sun can create turbulence for the brain. So that everything spins and you think you're going crazy. Here it is called "having a sunstroke". And that's actually not funny – it can be dangerous. So it is a practical avoidance strategy to place something intertwined on your head ;-)

I will now do a birthday serenade very quickly (because your day will not last long ...) and toast you with chilled rosé ... I wish you all the best and love and that everything stays in the green area ;-)
PS: I see a little bit of a green man here – that fits your penchant for extraterrestrials quite well :-) And the one hook reminds me a little of Captain Hook – but that shouldn't be intentional – you'd better get accompanied by Peter Pan in the new year ...

Day 78/365:
Smile on Saturday - White flowers
These roses are just past their best so I filled the frame to miss out the worst parts. HSoS
So today my minds are with my father! He past away almost 2 years ago. And today is his Birthday.
You past away but my memories still are here. And a person is just gone if we do not think about him anymore. Today the 14th of November is your Birthday and i keep our lifetime moments in my heart! I visited you this morning and told you i share a picture for your remembrance.
Tracks in the sand
One night I had a dream:
I was walking along the sea with my master.
Against the dark night sky
shone, like streaks of light,
images from my life.
And each time I saw two footprints in the sand,
my own and my master's.
When the last image passed my eyes
I looked back.
I was startled to discover
that in many places of my life's journey
there was only a trace to be seen.
And those were the hardest times of my life.
Concerned, I asked the Lord:
"Lord, when I began to follow you,
you promised me
to be with me in all my ways.
But now I discover
that in the hardest times of my life
there is only a trace in the sand.
Why did you leave me alone
when I needed you most?"
Then he answered, "My dear child,
I love you and will never leave you alone,
especially in times of need and difficulty.
There, where you have seen only a trace
you have seen,
I have carried you."

Explored September 28, 2021
I tried. I really tried to knot beautiful knots all Sunday evening. I have a box full of paracord in different colours which I've bought for a camera shoulder strap project, but I never got beyond making a few wrist straps so far. I tried (the operative word is tried) to make a few Celtic style knots with the paracord, also surgical knots, the monkey's fist knot (which ended up looking like an exploding Death Star)... Let's admit it, I'd be lost if I were to rely on my knot knotting abilities. What I succeeded in was inadvertidly tangling up a very thin golden necklace (each link is only 1 mm / 0.039 inches long) which I've borrowed from my Mother for the theme. The necklace now has knots where I've never intended them. I suppose I'll be in serious trouble if I don't manage to un-knot the necklace. But I have my photo ;)
Image taken with the Lensbaby SOL 22 (equipped with the 16mm extension tube) which came to my MM rescue today. I had the necklace tangled up on a black tile, and chose the two nicest looking knots as main subject. For illumination I've used a yellow light from the left, and a handheld (upper right position) flashlight which I've shone through the blue tealight holder for a rather nice electric blue effect. Processed with the usual suspects DXO PhotoLab 4, Color Efex, Analog Efex, and Luminar AI.

Day 249/365:
Crazy Tuesday - Libraries and books.
I know I did a high key version a couple of weeks ago but all's fair in a 365. This is a blend of two images, I took one of the closed book which came out very dark with some bright highlights and decided to see what it would look like blended with the book page heart. HCT
My husband has quite the green thumb...and he loves bringing home flowers he knows I'll like. Coneflowers are an especially pretty flower to me. This was taken about six years ago, but I thought they were especially pretty. Hope you enjoy!
