Inspired by a sudden piercing bit of sunlight (we have flood and landslide warnings from steady rain), I tried to catch patterns with the subjects already before me. Always a notebook and pen nearby with which to write.
Digital notes make for handy reference, but pen and ink? Still a joy. Must plant more trees to compensate for paper!
Sorry: posted to wrong account. Too late now.

Happy Macro Mondays everyone !!

This is a macro of the tiny, pretty little flowers of native honey myrtle, Melaleuca thymifolia. Unique aren't they?
The flowerheads contain up to 10 individual flowers and the conspicuous stamens are arranged in five bundles around the flower, each bundle containing up to 60 curved stamens.
Each flowerhead just 20 mm diameter.
Endemic to these parts, along the east coast here in New South Wales, up in to Queensland.
Usually growing to around 1 m in height, dense foliage.

Macro Monday - Dutch Angle - A macro image taken at an angle.
My husband treated me this perfume while we were in Chester earlier this year. I love the bottle almost as much as the fragrance but I keep it in its box tucked away in a drawer because apparently if perfume is kept in the light it doesn't last as long. HMM
I took a photo with the chess board set up on top of these shiny white tiles to give this pleasing reflected image, with the shallow field of focus on the main white pieces. Taken for the week 32 theme "Shallow/selective Depth of Field".
LARGE View On Black
I think it might be the last tunnel for a while. I somehow do not manage to see a lot of new ones... But TGIF anyway!;-))

Now she has moved out. Full of energy and wholeheartedly going to the next steps. And her parents are present with their thoughts, a bit proud ;-)

Nun ist sie ausgezogen. Voller Tatendrang und mit ganzem Herzen dabei, die nächsten Schritte zu gehen. Und ihre Eltern sind mit ihren Gedanken dabei, ein bisschen stolz ;-)

#SmileOnSaturday / #LetItGlow!
I must admit that the Sound of Music is one of my favourite movies. Whenever it comes on the telly I must watch it. I've probably seen it about 20 times!
Smile on Saturday - "Fresh and Fruity".
Crocus bulbs (technically called “corms”) not only provide winter garden color, but they naturalize, meaning that they spread and come back year after year—with minimum care—for an ever-larger display.
Preference over black & white? (Sorry, just removed the B&W one. I didn’t like it after all.)
Originally taken for Macro Monday - Foil theme.
A foil landscape. For the colour I placed glasses of coloured water on the foil along with a red shiny charger (the placemat type). I wasn't happy with the bright silver patches showing so I held an orange filter in front of the lens to even everything out. This has dulled the foil though.
The bright spot is the reflection from the bottom of the glass, I left it in as I thought it looked like the setting sun.
I've not been posting on Flickr lately...still can't seem to find my mojo. I've also been busy with my little grandson which is great fun but not conducive to photography or Flickr. I've probably missed lots of your images and doubt I'll be able to catch up if I want to keep my sanity. I will pick up on the latest images and take it from there. Have a lovely week.
I had been planning a different shot for the T189 theme this week, but when I came across this I could not resist, so this one is B is for Beauty :-) also for the photo 91:113 where the theme is frozen.
The first flowers to sprout from the earth each year (here, at least), crocus bring forth hope for the warmer days and bright blooms of spring.
The petals opened even as I photographed the tiny blossom this morning. So much fun! Nature amazes me.

There are lots of different varieties of Helenium at Sussex Prairie Garden. I'm afraid I don't know the name of this one, but I think it's particularly pretty.

A prolifically flowering and delightfully aromatic shrub.
Commonly known as mint bush, Prostanthera is a genus of around 100 species of flowering plants in the mint family Lamiaceae, and they all are endemic to this country.
This is specifically Prostanthera lasianthes x phylicifolia, Poorinda Ballerina.
These tiny flowers are just a few cm in diameter.

Another photo from our garden. I love that time of year when our vine is turning bright red. I played around with positioning the sun just at the edge of the leaf which caused this nice sunlit fringe to appear while also illuminating the leaf structure.
Einfach abhängen. Und ein bisschen im Wind schaukeln.

On the hazelnut bush – the very first spring blossoms :-)
Both male and female flowers appear on every hazelnut. The male flowers appear before the female flowers – and probably have to wait here for a time ... The female flowers are bud-shaped and bloom after the male flowers – and they take their time ... In the course of their flowering phase, they are pollinated by the male flowers using the wind.

With its delicate wings covering its face, this dragonfly looked to me as though it was wearing a beautiful black Spanish veil.

It took a bunch of crawling around on the ground to come up with this one.
