October 2025: A month in 31 pictures
#83 in my 100 x challenge- 100 Lensbaby images which happen to be mainly flowers...ooops!
Meet Sweet Sanne, a new dahlia to my garden this year. She was a bit of a slow starter and her first bloom was savaged by black fly. Finally she has shown her true beauty with this small but perfectly formed flower.

Photographed in situ. This was just one of around 10 flowers on the one plant.
These tiny, pretty star-like flowers belong to Romulea rosea which has many common names such as onion grass, rosy sandcrocus and pink romulea.
Native to southern Africa and now with established weed status in all States of Australia bar Queensland.
It is an herbaceous plant growing each year from a rounded underground bulb. Reaching just 20 mm in height. The grass-like leaves grow up to 65 cm long and only 1 to 2.5 mm wide, fanning out from ground level. Flowers are 15 to 30 mm diameter.

A bit of faffing today with the Lensbaby Velvet 56, some bokeh and the Omni filters.
Pleased to say we had our first Covid vaccinations yesterday. Still a long way to go but the start of being able to look forward to a brighter future.

I loved the alignment of candle lights along the centre aisle and had enough time to play with depth of field. In the end I prefered the photo with aperture f/1.6 (one stop down from wide open) ...

Mir gefiel die Anordnung der Kerzen entlang des Mittelgangs und ich hatte genug Zeit, mit der Schärfentiefe zu spielen. Letztlich hat mir das Foto mit Blende 1,6 (eine Stufe abgeblendet) am besten gefallen

Day One, using a macro/micro of a viola’s bridge and strings. I shot this at increasing apertures, but I like the way the light spreads on the strings at f/11.
Studying a book on the science (and magic!) of photographic lighting— for as long as it takes. Somehow I missed physics courses on light.

Macro Monday - Cotton
These are face scrubbies that I crocheted. They are an eco friendly alternative to cotton pads for makeup removal. We are doing our best to avoid anything single use. HMM
365 weekly theme - Introduction:
I am a maker of various things. Mostly handmade greetings cards so expect to see some of those in my 365. I used to teach card making and scrapbooking to adults but now it's just a hobby.
I finally succumbed to joining the 365 today (my fourth). I managed a photo each day for three days and have set up a flat lay for tomorrow...piece of cake huh? ;)
Reasons for joining:
1. Eric www.flickr.com/photos/54515311@N00/ said I was crazy enough to do it.
2. On New Year's Day my osteopath posted on Instagram "Do something that scares you" Well, committing to a 365 is pretty scary!
3. I am hoping it will help with the return of my mojo

What could I say, well this was a perfect morning in my eyes. It saved my day, so to speak, no matter what else was to come.

Used Tools: Sony A7II & SEL2470GM, the mobile is a Sony Xperia XZ2 compact. well the focus is here on "compact" in comparation with the size of my hand :)
This wonderful caterpillar caught my eye isolated on the rushes by the lake at Warnham nature reserve.
A quick Google search shows it might be a drinker moth caterpillar?
It's another week with a lot of work to bring home so I'm having to keep away from Flickr for a few days, but a half hour out with the camera has been the best relaxation. Please forgive me for posting my finds and running for a few days :(
