For this double exposure of a (past its best) rose, I wrapped a similarly coloured scarf round it. Took one exposure soft and the other in focus. The seahorse in question is the Omni seahorse crystal.

Another one with my vintage (1940s) dainty tin. This time with a necklace.

Poppies have had an extended blooming season with our cool, rainy Spring. They've been blooming for more than a month and look like they'll keep on for a couple more weeks.
HFF to all my friends out there :)
The sharpness is sometimes overrated :)

Sorry, once again I am behind with commenting, I will try to catch up asap.
Plants within genus Magnolia produce some of the most stunning floral displays on the planet. Elegant, graceful, so very beautiful.
I came across this breathtaking small tree on a neighbourhood walk last spring and stood enjoying its beauty for a long while. It truly was enchanting.
Named for the French botanist Pierre Magnol (1638-1715). Fossils from the Cretaceous period (145-66 million years ago) have been discovered - so these plants are considered some of the first flowering plants on Earth.

Hello There!
Macro Mondays is a weekly theme-based challenge group. This week's mission: PUZZLE
Interestingly enough, this challenge came while I've been working on the last puzzle of my book! I used a 36mm extension tube along with my macro lens.
Happy Macro Mondays! HMM!
Thanks a million for stopping by and for leaving a comment. I do appreciate hearing from you! Have a wonderful day and week ahead!

There felt something a little dreamlike about this shot...perhaps because it seemed unreal I'd finally managed to capture one of these little skippers at all. They have been so much more flighty than their large cousins!
Are delicate wee flowers that cover the ground in late spring or early summer. Bonus is that they are known to attract bees.
Thank you for stopping by and for leaving me a comment, much appreciated! Have a great day!
Macro Mondays - theme: Spiky
tiny Lace Aloe (Aristaloe aristata), a succulent plant, taken with the manual Laowa 60mm ultra macro lens
width of this image: about 3 cm (at max); those leaves are about 1 - 1.2 cm wide
Happy Macro Mondays, everyone !
I read a lot with an e-reader nowadays, because it's kind of a huge library you can carry easily in your pocket ...
But I still enjoy reading, smelling and touching 'real' books like the one the e-reader is lying on :))
Crazy Tuesday - theme of September 8, 2020: Old & New
... my maybe somewhat crazy way to meet the topic - but I just wanted to experiment a bit with shallow depth of field and light ... and it's Crazy Tuesday after all ; ))
Have a great Tuesday evening, everyone !!

Anything goes for 2021 - Beloved
This beloved pair are my husband and my childhood teddies. They live in our guest bedroom where they are looking out the window here. They are a rather scruffy pair and I often think of having them restored but I think they have gone too far now.

Day 264/365:
Definitely Dreaming - Middle of the day
A just in case shot (or two) of this floral display on the High Street. I don't get out much these days as it's too painful to be walking or standing for long but nice to have a little trip out.
I blended two iPhone shots together then gave it a retro look in Snapseed.
Day 186/365:
Can you see the little rosebud tucked behind the rose? I'm pretty sure it believes it will become a beautiful flower too.
I made a big mistake today, I thought I'd be okay to take my camera into the garden to get a photo. I managed a photo but my back is telling me I shouldn't have :( We never learn do we?

When accosted by a pink panther, don't anther.
Crepe paper, paper mâché, cotton candy, hibiscus.
The last of the series, probably.
Australian east coast native Leptospermum polygalifolium with its early spring time flush of beautiful little flowers. And with its gracefully weeping aromatic evergreen foliage, truly a very pretty sight and loved by the bees.
Each flower just 10 to 15 mm in diameter.

I love going to the hardware shop and looking at all the shiny metal things. I wouldn't know what to do with three-quarters of it, but hardware can be so pretty.
Macro Mondays - #Monochrome - HMM to all!
7 Days With Flickr - Free theme (Mondays)
Can there ever be too many? Not in my opinion. This is another shot from my recent visit to the beautiful gardens at Borde Hill.

Our poppies are blooming early this year, this one was laying on the ground so I brought it inside for a photoshoot, it was quite an obliging model so I managed to get a couple of shots. HSS

Some of the snowdrops are starting to fade so I thought I'd better make the most of them while they last. Another use for my recently acquired heart too, placed on a child's chair that I've had for a while but not got round to using before.
A very 🎶 Happy Birthday 🎶 to you, Dave
... and many Happy and CrAzY returns ✨ !!
... and when you still haven't had enough cakes, sweets and biscuits on your birthday 🎂 you can find these colourful french macarons (and some fine Gin, lol) in this award-winning pastry shop: www.patisserie-ludwig.net/
... and here is 🎶 another one 🎶 😂
I love it when the daffodils start to appear in the supermarkets in January. We don't have them in flower yet but I did see some last week in a sunny, sheltered spot!
Thanks for all the lovely comments and faves on my images and I hope you have a good weekend.
After gaining this horse's trust, I managed to get in a bit closer for some details.
I really like the composition and eye detail in this shot. No crop here, just up close and personal!

Another shot from my session at Horkstow Bridge, this time from a very low angle, i.e. camera resting on the deck, hence the shallow depth of field, and taken with my Olympus gear, with no filters.

Photographed in situ, one of the pretty flowers on a lemon tree in my neighbour’s garden. He often kindly shares his crop with us.
Native to Asia, Citrus limon is a species of small evergreen tree in the flowering plant family Rutaceae.
I love that even the foliage gives off a lemon scent, not just the fruit.

Day 184/365:
A bit of a grab shot today as I have a bad back so unable to do much. Hydrangeas in my garden.
Lensbaby Velvet 56 and Omni seahorse crystal. Then a bit of a vintage film edit with light leaks.

Looking Close on Friday - In a row
I tried a few things in a row but settled on these brushes in the end. I added my own texture which is actually tyre marks in sand, I thought it would give a brush stroke effect. Using Lensbaby Velvet 56, taken on a window sill in an attempt to make the trees in the background look like a paint palette...that was the idea anyway :)
Wishing you all a great weekend
