Rain drop on Japanese Maple

Day 101/365:

April 2022: A month in 30 pictures

A quick just in case shot today and I didn't have time for anything else. Since it's day 101 I focussed on that

Those 'off-the-shelf' waffles with chocolate coating were the only biscuits / cookies left after the holidays since my hubby does have a bit of a sweet tooth and treats do not last long with us : ))

And I even had to fight for them to take some photos, lol

Crazy Tuesday - theme of January 4, 2022: Biscuits and Crackers

😄 HaPpY CrAzY Tuesday 😄

(I will catch up in the evening)

Hello There!

Macro Mondays is a weekly theme-based challenge group. This week's mission: PUZZLE

Interestingly enough, this challenge came while I've been working on the last puzzle of my book! I used a 36mm extension tube along with my macro lens.

Happy Macro Mondays! HMM!

Thanks a million for stopping by and for leaving a comment. I do appreciate hearing from you! Have a wonderful day and week ahead!

There felt something a little dreamlike about this shot...perhaps because it seemed unreal I'd finally managed to capture one of these little skippers at all. They have been so much more flighty than their large cousins!

Day 99/365:

April 2022: A month in 30 pictures

A really busy day today and I was getting desperate for photo ideas. I grabbed this vase, put it in front of the window and after a few rubbish shots decided to try a multiple exposure.

Lensbaby Velvet 56 and Omni filter then added textures.

Day 69/365:

Definitely Dreaming - Hands

My little star helping me out today. Hands aren't in focus but focus isn't everything, right?

Are delicate wee flowers that cover the ground in late spring or early summer. Bonus is that they are known to attract bees.

Thank you for stopping by and for leaving me a comment, much appreciated! Have a great day!

I would like to dance so lively at a party with friends right now – but I have my roses to imagine and so I dance a little at home ;-)

So lebhaft würde ich jetzt gern auf einer Party mit Freunden tanzen – aber ich habe ja meine Rosen, um es mir vorzustellen und so tanze ich zu Hause ein wenig ;-)

When on our holidays in Findochty last year i went a walk past the old bakery on my way to the harbour. The Sun was going down and there was some very nice light ....i saw the Clover was catching the light as was the old bakery so i got down low to use the Clover as my foreground interest with the bakery in the background

Collective 52 Photo Project. Week 32/52- ''Hat''

''Wearing a hat is fun; people have a good time when they're wearing a hat''. - Philip Treacy.

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments on this little caterpillar yesterday.

Here's a more traditional view too, just because it really was amazingly beautiful in an ugly kind of way!

I don't know if any of my more knowledgeable Flickr friends could confirm if it's a six spot burnet caterpillar from this clearer view?

The Dragonfly season has begun. Hit "L" for a view on her face. I just love them.

HFF to all my friends out there :)

The sharpness is sometimes overrated :)

Used Tools:

Sony A7 Mark II

Canon FE 70200/2.8 L IS II USM

Sigma MC-11

Day 203/365:

Another rose, another double exposure. That and my iPhone seem to be my safety nets lately but it is all about staying in the game.

Lensbaby Velvet 56 and Omni Seahorse crystal. First exposure of the whole rose and the second of the predominant area on the right, Taken after a rain shower. And after a busy afternoon with our grandson.

Poppies have had an extended blooming season with our cool, rainy Spring. They've been blooming for more than a month and look like they'll keep on for a couple more weeks.

Australian east coast native Leptospermum polygalifolium with its early spring time flush of beautiful little flowers. And with its gracefully weeping aromatic evergreen foliage, truly a very pretty sight and loved by the bees.

Each flower just 10 to 15 mm in diameter.

Day 30/365:

Definitely dreaming - Food

I made granola this morning, handy for the food theme. I bought the heart while we were on holiday, to add to my collection.

“There is something incredibly nostalgic and significant about the annual cascade of autumn leaves.”

manual vintage Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AI @ about f/2.8 (I think)

taken in October when there were not much autumn colours yet; mostly already brown leaves (due to the heat and draught this summer) or still green ones like on the tree in the background

I have been a bit under the weather; trying to catch up : ))

Day 98/365:

I saw this cherry blossom while out with my little grandson so grabbed a shot.

For the weekly/monthly challenge - Walks on all fours

I had hoped to get a photo of Bruno for this theme but he really deserves to enjoy his retirement rather than have the camera in his face all the time so it's another one from the archives.

We saw this cute little fellow at Lake Minnewanka, Banff. I just loved how tiny he was and yet seemed to own all he surveyed.

Photographed while exploring with NJ. Marpole, Vancouver. May 22, 2016.

169/365:

For this double exposure of a (past its best) rose, I wrapped a similarly coloured scarf round it. Took one exposure soft and the other in focus. The seahorse in question is the Omni seahorse crystal.

Lensbaby Velvet 56

Day 83/365:

Out in the garden for today's photo. A double exposure of muscari.

Lensbaby Velvet 56 and Omni filters. Textures added (my own).

Macro Mondays - theme: Spiky

tiny Lace Aloe (Aristaloe aristata), a succulent plant, taken with the manual Laowa 60mm ultra macro lens

width of this image: about 3 cm (at max); those leaves are about 1 - 1.2 cm wide

Happy Macro Mondays, everyone !

Crazy Tuesday - Shallow DOF

I read a lot with an e-reader nowadays, because it's kind of a huge library you can carry easily in your pocket ...

But I still enjoy reading, smelling and touching 'real' books like the one the e-reader is lying on :))

Crazy Tuesday - theme of September 8, 2020: Old & New

... my maybe somewhat crazy way to meet the topic - but I just wanted to experiment a bit with shallow depth of field and light ... and it's Crazy Tuesday after all ; ))

Have a great Tuesday evening, everyone !!

* * * * * * * * * * * * *

Day 186/365:

Can you see the little rosebud tucked behind the rose? I'm pretty sure it believes it will become a beautiful flower too.

I made a big mistake today, I thought I'd be okay to take my camera into the garden to get a photo. I managed a photo but my back is telling me I shouldn't have :( We never learn do we?

Lensbaby Velvet 56 and Omni crystals

Happy Mother’s Day ... especially to my mom ... thank you .... ♡ ...

and HMBT - Happy Monochrome Bokeh Thursday

During a wander around a local wood, on a misty moody morning, I came across this facade of a small house nestled into the root of this tree. It raises the question “who lives in a place like this?” Well, obviously from the sign on the door, Penny.
