Just a way to make things fly. You can have more angles with this, rather than just one with an average stand. Not too strong, but a bit of Blutac might help. And the big base is just to make sure the whole thing doesn't tip.

Step 1 - Tire the dog out with a long walk
Step 2 - Lure him into position with the promise of treats
Step 3 - Start ripping film in front of a very confused looking dog....
Enjoy and remember to comment and critique.

After the initial lighting setup is finished Mark takes a few photos for review. Mark reviews the images with the Art Director (AD) to make sure that everything is perfect before shooting for the day. This shoot was for catalog shots, in-store displays, ceiling banners, and billboards. The AD requested a high key setup and was intending to do some compositing on a few of the shots. The key thing we were looking at here was the highlight on the arms and legs. If the highlights from the kicker lights are too bright than the transition from arms to white is very difficult to see. Taking the time to review the setup and lock it in will save many hours in post-production.
This is how I froze myself tonight...
The Two trays are just baking sheets filled with hot water.
Hot water + Dry Ice = Rapid Sublimation (Smoke/Vapor).

Strobist:
Ambient was a ceiling light featured in picture.
One light setup: One 430EX ii on 1/4 power shot into the 24" softbox about 8' high and 3' away camera right. Triggered using PW Flex TT5s.

Strobist:
Ambient was a ceiling light above and mid-day light coming thru the windows. It was raining outside but I shot when the sun was out.
Another really simple lighting setup. One 430EX ii on 1/8 power was shot into the 24" softbox about 7' high and 4' away. Triggered using PW Flex TT5s.
This is the lighting setup used for my new piece titled "A View Through an Eye of Glass"

This is my setup for the "Don't hate me" photo. It was shot by another brother using his P&S camera. Other than my camera body, tripod, lens, & hot shoe flash, all the other parts were scrounged from around the house. The bay windows and overhead lights had no significant effect on the finished portrait.

This is the setup that I used for my duckling time-lapse shots.
I mounted the camera (with 15mm fisheye lens on a heavy duty Giottos MH-3300 Pro Ball Head (just the head).
I tethered the camera to my laptop and used. EOS Utility software to control it. Software was set to fire the camera every 5 seconds.
