The same setup used in the latest "Fireman's 4" photo.
Shoot-through top made of the finest Heftyâ„¢ kitchen trashbag.
Shoot-through side ports 5x9", 3" from the rear of the box, and 5" from the floor. Diffusion material = printer paper.
Strobist:
2x Vivitar 285HV, 1/4 power, through the sides of my $3 white box.
The setup for my first strobist-style experiments. The sunlight through the patio door didn't enter into the picture as I blocked it with some white foam core that I was using as a fill.
Note super-nerdy Canon decal on the Macbook with which I was shooting tethered!
Foam core: $5 at Michael's (Canadian craft store)
Background: banner paper also from Michael's, $15 for 30" x 75'.
Setup picture from the January Triangle Strobist meetup.
Feel free to use/repost this picture if you want to use it as a description of the setup.

This shot shows a bit more of the setup I used to capture digital stills of my slide film.
I put my d300s on the tripod and connected it to my laptop so I don't need to touch it to capture an image. I set the 'shutter delay' on which delays the shutter by about one second after the mirror is flipped. Exposure settings are iso 100; f5.6; 1/50. The lamp is an ordinary desk lamp (light bulb) which does alter color reproduction slightly, but in lightroom this can be compensated. The only part in this setup which is a bit specialized is the slide holder. It comes from a slide viewer and contains the holder for the slide and a ground glass for uniform illumination.

This was the set up for Day 84. I stood watching and I got my daughter, aged 5, to fan the flames for me. Seems a little unfair somehow!
Setup shot for this picture
One SB-600 (24mm, 1/2, 1/4 CTO gel, shoot-through umbrella) in front of the model.
Camera : D70s, 1/15, f8, ISO 200 at 95mm (using the Nikon push-pull 80-200mm)
Stay tuned I will be putting more setup shots in future.

Calumet Genesis 200 camera left with shoot through umbrella (half flagged) to light subject.
Calumet Genesis 200 camera right behind subject for rim light.
Canon 430EX gelled on background.
Here's the setup shot for the image: "Surprise!"
- SB-600 snooted & gelled to 3/4CTO on camera left. This was fixed to the back of a dinner-chair using a Joby Gorillapod
- SB-600 on camera right gelled to Blue. Pointed up towards the ceiling and wall to bounce and give a fill-light.
Setup shot #2 - I actually didn't have the red bedsheet underneath yesterday, the mattress was bare since my sheets were in the washer. The setup is sitting on a cardboard Mexx gift box to provide stability.

This is what happens when I get bored. I go around the house trying to find random stuff to photograph. This time, I raided my scrapbooking bin and found some buttons.
Metz 48 with shoot-through umbrella at camera right, one piece of bristol board as a background, and a second one as a reflector. (previously held in place by ducktape, but I started disassembling it before taking a setup shot.)
Setup is simply a TV tray, Norman 404 Strobe with umbrella softlight and my large screen tv as a reflector just off to the left.
A simple setup. Snooted flash pointed at the ring (adjusted many times to get a shape I liked). 1/16 power.
