Setup for this photo for Macro Mondays.
About 80% of the string of lights is jammed inside the grater, so that it would shine out through the holes for foreground bokeh. Some of the lights are outside, to give just a bit of illumination both to Death and to the aluminum foil that's providing the background bokeh. The ruler is stuck inside the grater to block the light from just one blue bulb that was shining a little too brightly through the holes. The scotch tape dispenser is holding the "outside" lights in place a little bit.
What a pain - i had to cut away the sheet rock with a utility knife, then drill the corners of the plywood and finally use a sabre saw to finish the hole. The worst part was that the boxes i bought were designed to fit into an opening and then secure with wings that spin out from the back side when you turn a screw.

Two flashs used for this shot. One gelled kind of green/blue bounced from the white background and one gelled red directed toward the right reflector.
There's a black sheet behind the glass. Also two semi transparent plastic container are used as reflectors on each side. Black sheet are inside them to substract a little bit of light.
Finally a home made reflector wrapped in aluminium is held on top, reflecting a lot of the blue/green light.

setup for shoe shot at 6/365. Apparently your supposed to upload these (atleast it's what I see everyone else do)
Note how improvised this setup is. Backscreen is a piece of Canvas. The 'Floor' is a white t-shirt. Flash is held up by a book and a few pieces of plastic.

- overcast sky less than 1hr from sunset, underexposed by about 1.5-2 stops
- WB set to daylight
- flash closer to camera: SB-26 w/ PocketWizard on a light stand, high up, full-CTO gel

Setup shot for the photos uploaded from the Olympia Meetup Group Small Object Lighting event. All of the ornament shots and the berries shot were taken with this setup - except for the berries shot, I leaned the back diffuser over to semi-GOBO the ambient room light above. Also gives you a sense of scale for how small these objects are...
