Planetary photo setup, viewed from the back: attached to the SC11 telescope, from right to left, are the electric micro-focusser, the flip-mirror that can send light up through the eyepiece or straight through to the camera, the filter wheel, the 2X Barlow lens, and the ZWO120mm-s camera.

The setup I used to take these pictures:

www.flickr.com/photos/jollino/5078159972/

You can see my Canon 350D sporting a Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 + contactless extension tubes (manual exposure, manual focus)

Here is my setup for the initial run of water drop pics. This was just setup on a table to see how it all worked together. Looks more chaotic than it really is but it could be neater!

Strobist: SB-28 Camera right through umbrella tiggered via PW's. 500 DG Super camera left inside small soft box triggered optically. This is the first time I have used the small light box as a diffusion source. I can see many uses for this, oh yeah!

This is where I take my agate photographs and the setup is very light and portable. Using two sunlamps I purchased at Home Depot, set at about 45 degree angles and about even with my chair - a simple cardboard box, painted flat-black inside and covered with black felt, with a hole cut in the front, just big enough to display the various size agates I am photographing. All other light sources are turned off or blacked out by other pieces of black cloth.

Strobe: SB-600 - @ 85mm - 1/4 power - left - full CTO Rosco gel - triggered via CLS/AWL

The setup. Sb800 into Morris softbox 1/4 power triggered by Su800

Basic clamshell setup for this. Read the diagram so that it would be drawn from the side perspective, not top perspective like normally.

Getting ready to settle in for a long night on Tuesday. Even from the UK I'll be tuning in as the results come in.

The home entertainment setup is explained here.

Mac Rumors has an entire photo thread just on peoples' past and present computer setups.

There's one. On the right a 4th gen Nano docked with a G4 PowerBook that I now use as a sort of Mac Mini, seeing as how the built in screen is developing age spots.

Either BSD Unix or a flavour of MS on the dual core Dell on the left, some analog stuff in the form of guitars and cameras, and some Lovecraftian nightmare developing down low and away.

Setup for my attempts at photographing the partial lunar eclipse on the night of June 26. The Canon 450D body is at the prime focus of the telescope. The motor drive was going, powered from a 6v battery eliminator, but I had only approximately positioned the tripod mount on the deck aligned to the south celestial pole. With the relatively fast exposure times needed (the slowest was 1 sec) the approx tracking was acceptable.

It had been very cloudy all day with a few rain showers and I thought it was going to be a non event, but the skies cleared a bit just after sunset so I decided to set everything up just in case. I took some shots of the full moon before the eclipse to judge the top end exposure required and thought everything was going to be ok. But just after taking this photo the rain started again and I had to hurredly throw a large plastic sheet over everything and move all the gear back into the house. And that's it I thought, I may as well go watch the James Bond movie on TV.

However the rain stopped a short while after and about 20 minutes before the eclipse was to start there wasn't a single cloud in sight, so I abandoned the movie and set up again.

I got some reasonable eclipse shots, but towards the end of the session I realised that dew was forming on all the cold surfaces including the exposed lens of the telescope and this managed to destroy the definition of the later photos.
