A modest setup by most ham shack standards, but currently consists of a Yaesu FT-897D for HF/6m, a converted Ascom SE550 for 4m and an Icom IC-T8E for 6m/2m/70cm. Not pictured are a Yaesu FT-50R and a Yaesu FT-60E, both for use when mobile on 2m and 70cms.

I deliberately left the strobe further away to get some bounced fill from the surroundings, in order to really soften things up.

You can still quite clearly see the direct transition zone under the peeled layer of skin on the right, if you view the result below.

This scene partially lit by the visible strobe, and partially by a Nissin 360TW behind the camera, bouncing off the ceiling at 1/4 power and synced with an optical slave.

Two Speedlite 430EXII below an acrylic glass plate with transparent paper and a white paper sheet on the floor.

strobist info:

sigma EF 530 dg super in optical slave mode, 1/16 into umbrella at camera left.

sunpak auto 30dx triggered by radio trigger, 1/16 into umbrella camera right

nikon sb600 triggered by radio trigger, 1/1 into background gelled with rosco 80 primary blue

This picture was taken of my new lightbox that I just recently finished building.

So far, it works great but I'm still learning!

The setup here at the office as it is currently.

(Of note: First iPhone pic posted here in my pics)

Possible setup of the buildings. In front of them a central road with parking places is planned. And ofcourse the wall just after the last railroad track.

Portable diffusion fabric with handle, I use this all the time. Best modifier for sunny days to manage the lighting.

The EF 50mm f/1.8 II really looks a little (pun intended) out of place on a medium-sized EOS with a big Speedlite.

This is the first time I've mounted both the flash and the lens together since I have almost shot exclusively on the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 after I got a hold of it.

I certainly missed the clarity of a prime lens, but not the missing focal lengths and angles of view.

This was shot using a Sanyo Xacti DSC-J1 digital compact camera.

The setup shot of my final entry for stobist's first assignment:

2 SB25's the front right one is gelled with a blue filter (true blue)

The center back one is behind the white paper, both flashes are at 1/64th power. The 2 spoons were placed on black paper and held in position by a piece of clay.

This is a setup shot for my "Merry Thanksgiving" shot. It demonstrates how I had the flashes & camera positioned relative to the fridge.

A Canon 430EX, snooted & gelled, was attached to a light stand which was lying on the top of the fridge. This light pointed down at the floor of the fridge and reflected upward into the lower half of the cavity.

A Sunpak Auto 544, also snooted & gelled, was lying on the floor and pointing up at the roof of the fridge, which reflected down to light the upper half of the cavity.

Fired with Cactus V4 radio triggers.

My new dual-monitor setup

This was taken with Sigma 10-20mm (DX lens) attached to Nikon D3X @10mm without using the DX or 5:4 mode. Interesting vignette. Probably not fixable in post production :P
