A pleasant, cloudless sunset on the first day of daylight saving time. Pic taken from around San Jose, CA from up at The Point Church. I was up here with my parents since we were throwing away our old water softener tank thingy here lol. Daylight saving time (DST) is the practice of advancing clocks during the summer months by one hour so that evening daylight lasts an hour longer, while sacrificing normal sunrise times (and losing an hour of sleep lol)...

Weather update:
Continued spring-like weather pattern... High pressure was over our area with frontal systems going by to our north. The high was to get a little stronger thru Monday. The north state was to see mostly sunny skies with a few mid and high clouds. Temps were to continue to be well above normal for the Bay Area. The high pressure area was to (finally) begin to weaken by Tuesday. By Wednesday, a weak frontal system was to move thru the area. This system was to bring a few showers to the higher elevations with isolated showers in the north end of the Central Valley. Then by Thursday and most of Friday, we were to see a few clouds with slightly above normal temps once again. Another weak frontal system was to move in Friday night and Saturday, again not a real rain maker for us...
So I have learnt 3 things today:
* "not dimmer compatible", means "not dimmer compatible"
* 240v electrocution across the fingers stings but doesn't kill.
* light is a weird thing...
It took over 1000w of light to illuminate the body and background just so you could almost balance a 40w equivalent bulb.

Home energy saving kits are now available to borrow at all Dublin City Public Libraries.
The Home Energy Saving Kits have been developed by Dublin's energy agency Codema and contain six practical tools to help the public save energy at home. The items in the toolkits address three key areas of energy use in the home - space heating, hot water and electricity consumption - and can help identify common problems such as lack of insulation, poor ventilation and the appliances in the home that might be driving up electricity bills.
