This former Albertsons opened in 2002 as part of a major redevelopment of a former mall. Part of this development included replacing a former American Stores-owned Lucky, which is now a JoAnn craft store (store closed prior to merger) and a new Albertsons (because this was post merger) was opened to replace that store. Unfortunately, due to me trying to stay on schedule, I chose not to go next door into the now-closing JoAnn next door, which I now regret. However, I will be able to see more JoAnn sites soon before their closure.
This Albertsons opened with Blue and Green Awnings as one of the later stores with this interior. This store did open with a more unique layout, kind of a mix between the layout of a Grocery Palace and a Santa Fe/Jewel layout. There is one service counter at the end of produce which I am not very sure what it was, since the deli, bakery, and meat department counters could all be accounted for, and the now-closed pharmacy was located at the front of the store.
When Albertsons chose to ditch NorCal in 2007, like many former Albertsons sites, this store was sold to Save Mart to be rebranded as a Lucky in their attempt to revive the brand. Save Mart did their usual minor refresh when they took over the store, with a more thorough facelift occurring in late 2021. Even then, the awnings and the tile backsplash in the service departments still remain.
The pharmacy closed in 2022.
WIT: Color replaced purple with red and desaturated the background. To make it pop, I copied the background layer, ran a high pass on it, and changed the blending layer to overlay.
I replaced our two house thermostats with two new Nest thermostats. Not only do they look good, they are smart.
Nest is designed to learn our routine heating and cooling times and keep the house temperature the way we like it. It should take a couple of weeks of our adjusting the temp and then Nest will be programed.
On top of that, we can control the Nest with our mobile phones or iPad when away from home. No more switching from air conditioner to furnace when the temperature changes, Nest has an app for that.

North Riverside Park Entrance. Imagine the center of the existing corner being replaced with a circular walkway, that runs along an over-40 FOOT diameter planter similar to the planter around the base of the Riverside Park sign in upper left corner. Inside that planter is a sign with two lines - "City of Beloit" and "Riverside Park" - that is 7 FEET high by 15 FEET in a style very like the Riverside Park sign in the upper right. Also inside that planter is a 14-FEET tall by 36 FEET wide brick and steel arch similar to the Riverside Park sign at the lower two corners of the photo above.
I understand the idea of making a new entrance at the north end. I understand it should be consistent with the park's overall style, but, as designed right now, this is complete overkill. A Gateway Arch like those in the lower corners, a new sidewalk, and "City of Beloit" in steel in the arch (instead of musical notes) and "Riverside Park" underneath should do the trick nicely. We can use the money spent for a planter and shrubs and gigantic obstructionist sign to better purpose elsewhere in the park.
It should be an ENTRANCE, inviting people into the park, not a GATE blocking people from viewing the park.

The fillets label the pigeon hole, with locations, and are a strip of rubber, with white painted location names.
A history of the castle through warfare; inside Argyle Tower, Edinburgh Castle
Built on the instructions of Regent Morton to replace the Constable's Tower, destroyed in siege of 1573 (mullets and hearts are armorial devices of the Douglas family). William McDowell (Master of Work) was paid for construction of the 'inner yet' in 1577. Further work to protect the portcullis was carried out under the direction of William Schaw in 1584, adding 2 upper storeys. Blanc's work, 'in the style of David II,' was paid for by the publisher William Nelson, who hoped that the Honours of Scotland would be housed in the upper room. This upper section is known as the Argyle Tower because the 9th Earl of Argyle was thought to have been imprisoned in a chamber above the Portcullis Gate before his execution in 1685.

Castle Rock had been a military base and royal residence for centuries. However, the edifice that is known as Edinburgh Castle was built during the 12th century by David I, son of Saint Margaret of Scotland.
The tensions between the English and Scottish monarchies nearly always centred on Edinburgh Castle. He who held the castle held rule over the city of Edinburgh and, therefore, over all of Scotland. Consequently, the castle was almost constantly under siege.
The first major battle the castle witnessed was during the late 13th century when Edward I of England attempted to seize the then vacant Scottish throne. From 1296 to 1341, the castle bounced from English to Scottish hands several times during the First and Second Wars of Scottish Independence.
After the Wars of Independence, the castle was in great need of repairs. Most of the construction was overseen by David II. In his honour, David’s Tower was erected.
In 1571, English forces laid siege to the city of Edinburgh in an attempt to capture Mary, Queen of Scots. The siege, which lasted for two years, became known as the “long” or “Lang” siege. By February of 1573, all of Mary’s supporters had surrendered to the English. During the Lang Siege, David’s Tower was destroyed.
The castle, again, witnessed strife when, in 1650, Oliver Cromwell executed Charles I and led an invasion of Scotland. In August of that year, Edinburgh Castle fell into English hands.
During the Jacobite Risings (1688-1746), the Scots attempted, several times, to recapture their castle. Unfortunately, they were never able to overpower the English. The final attempt was in 1745 when the Jacobite army was led by Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie). Although the Scots were able to capture the city, they were never able to lay siege to the castle. In November of that year, the Jacobites were forced to retreat.
From the late 18th century to the early 19th, Edinburgh Castle was used to hold military prisoners from England’s many wars. The castle became a national monument in 1814 after a mass prison break proved that the castle could not hold prisoners. During the 19th and early 20th centuries, the castle was slowly restored. Military ceremonies began to be held there and, in 1927, part of the castle was turned into the Scottish National War Memorial.

When you can't wait for the fairer to come and and fix all the minor problems you have to learn to do it yourself
Industry professionals are frequently complaining about the shortage of talented individuals despite scores of college students graduating each year. Although unemployment remains lower for a few years, yet the underemployment rate is growing – despite the impressive rate of annual job creation. Moreover, underemployment is the most significant problem in software industry. Companies are unable to find the appropriate talent despite having a large pool of graduates. After years of studies and experimentation, most researchers are of the view that promoting talent on-demand is the most appropriate approach to fill the voids.
