Inbetween of the repainting process of my OOAK Aurora.
I had some screenshots as reference and chose a light grey/brown for her eyebrows. And I noticed that her upper lip and her lower lip are slightly different colored. Maybe it was intended to be so due to the light, but I liked the fact and tried to repaint her that way.
When I saw this girl in a store I just knew I had to buy her!! ♡
(Clawdeen is my favorite scupt but Howleen is like a smaller and cuter version of her! >w<)
Repaint & clothes by me :D
Commissioned repaint of Ultra Basic Jeremy Voss. Tattoo and eye-color are requests made by his owner.
My first attempt at everything:
* cutting hair
* dyeing hair in 2 colors with fabric markers
* cutting out her teeth
* repainting face
I wasn't putting myself under much pressure with her because I don't like the original Barbie mold and this was a spare head from the pink top MTM. And so I thought I'll just give it a try to see how hard it is to do all those things when making a one of a kind doll... It took several times to paint and then remove what I've done on her face. Also the glue did not look well when I tried to close her mouth. Then I tried a dark blue acrylic paint as a lip color but it looked awful over the glued lips. I took pure acetone and removed the lip paint but also the glue came off with it and in the end I just left her be with a slightly open lips in nude nail polish :D Eyebrows painted over with black acrylic paint and eyes highlitghed with white acrylic paint and added a dramatic acrylic liner.
But actually I am quite pleased with the result! I actually like her now! Very hipster and much more character in her face than before, imho.

I can't even remember when is the last time I repainted a Barbie until someone requested LOL... Here you go :)
This is my second MH custom that I'm working on. I still want to redo her eye lashes because they came out terrible. They are too thick and uneven >< I'm having a hard time drawing them with the watercolor pencils and I've tried with paint and I can't get them thin enough.
As a repaint commission work for my friend Ginny I got to experience a JamieShow 17" resin doll for the first time. I was very impressed with the feel of the resin and sturdiness of the joints. I really like the tarnslucent quality of the resin and the body sculpt is wonderful. The measurements a very close to Sybs, so Jamie could wear all Superfrock items in my collection. Even all the shoes fit. I also appreaciated the green packaging: the box is a small as possible, sturdy and efficient. I think I will have to get a JamieShow lady of my own as soon as they get double jointed knees.
Just another photo of my repaint... I'm getting ready to list these guys on ebay and I'm a little nervous about it. I've never sold a repaint before XD
This is the first Cool Girl I've customized for a long, long time (well...since October...)
I tried some new painting approaches, mainly embracing water as a way to dilute acrylic paints...
You can see more detail by looking at All Sizes, if you like.
She's been a wee bit of a challenge so far,I haven't gotten used to repainting so many different head molds,while fun it's a bit difficult given I'm so used to doing Ariel and her proportions are much different than Aquatas.I hope Vanessa and Andrina don't turn out to be this difficult(I'm a little rusty,lol)
Not a very good repaint, far from my best, but not as bad as I thought.
I was sitting in my living room feeling an urge to repaint, but I didn't think I had anything that I wasn't attached to the face of. Then I remembered my doctor Barbie. So I decided to try my first full repaint, which you can see I'm not done with yet. I first attempted to give her open eyes, but for some reason painting along the indentations for eyes gave completely different results on each eye. Finally I gave up on that and decided on a closed eye repaint. I'm gonna do a touch up soon. And do the lips.
Stay tuned for news on what's upcoming on my blog! I have some stuff planned for Force Friday II! catsandcollections.wordpress.com/2017/08/31/its-force-fri...
A shot of the unfinished front awaiting a brown skirt to be applied. She was actually painted by the same two guys who painted her at Northern Counties when she was built! Indeed, they brought in a little tatty notebook that listed all the buses they had painted while at NC and sure enough, 8758s was in there! A nice touch!
This fashiondollhouse repaint from ebay was too gorgeous to pass up. I've put her in a Karen dress, shoes from Eugenia Wicked Narcissism, and earrings and necklace from lovelygirl.
