Rerooted in Tickled Pink and SKy Blue saran from Restoredoll.
This was one of those slightly horrible cheap hard-legged Barbies that CVS sells, which I bought on a whim and took as a challenge. I reallyloved her jaw shape right off, and it took me ages to get the eyes on her that I was finally happy with, but yeah, here she is. ^^
I got a blank Nyx from Yian in trade and just found time to paint her. It was so much fun to paint a doll without considerations of how well she will sell or other limitations. Just took a look from my avant garde make up inspiration folder and went for it!
Nyx wears Syb Cross hose, Swallow wings and Rock It shoes together with Inamorata Seraph corset, skirt and wig by PattaArt. Modsdoll heads are same size as Inamorata but more narrow and can wear softer hard cap wigs like the ones made by Patta.
Here is a playline chaise that we first painted with black plastic spray paint. Then I went back and added the silver acrylic paint detailing.
Had one of my repainting frenzies this week. Adele got a partial reroot and flocking, update to a NF body and a new face up with applied lashes.
I was hoping to get some repainting in this last weekend, but no such luck; family visiting, general chores and work. So much work. My boss is on holiday at the moment, and I'm in charge. It's not all it's cracked up to be.
Still, knocked this sweater together on the Tube/while visiting the Boy's folks. It's supposed to be a modern version of his movie outfit, see.
I don't know why, but I can't stop repainting cheap Barbie pots & pans. I had a couple of these teapots, so I decided to repaint one. I made the bottom piece out of Sculpey clay & glued it on, I think it actually came out pretty nice. Maybe I'll do the other teapot in a different color.
Manga is a fully customized OOAK doll repaint. He has been given some Asian physical characteristics, but this was very challenging because the Texas A&M face sculpt is a Caucasian male. It is near impossible to override certain features on the base doll.
After cutting out her teeth, her repainting proces could begin.
This was my first layer. With the mattel head there would have already been five layers prior to this stage to match the skintone with chalk to the body.
Now it already matched I could immediately start on the eyes, lips, eyebrows, shading, blushing.
Now normally I have a certain method of repainting. I use watercolor pencils from Faber Castell and a bit of chalk, which works great on soft vinyl.
As this head at this stage turned into hard vinyl I had to change techniques.
I think the surface was kind of similar in texture to a resin doll head now. When I did the face up on my msd's I found out I couldn't use my water color pencils the way I was used to.
On the soft vinyl heads you can actually draw. Now when I did that the result looked chalky, so I faded the harsh lines with a small chalk brush.
I also used a lot more chalk, I prefer Schmincke. Like with my former Punzie's I used the pencils to make the eye shadow. Now I used chalk.
The upside to this texture is that it will be able to hold a lot more color before you have to spray another layer of msc.
You can keep continuing to build up the colors a lot longer.
At this stage I only sprayed the msc because I wanted to seal in this results because I really liked the base already and I was afraid to mess it up.

Progress on the ALX400-based follow up to the Optare Spectra Nottinghamshire repaint pack is still very much continuing, even if I don't have much time for OMSI at the moment. The first five liveries for the B7TL are done, with all the fiddly bits now lined up and 'signed off', as it were, so I can turn my attention to the remaining fifteen! (And then do it all again on the Tridents, naturally...)
Redfern is the nearest, and not satisfied with the plain green livery I decided to add the yellow stripes that they have on some of their buses, and I think it looks all the better for it - as well as being a massive help for when I come to do the Johnson Bros version.
Calling the Skills livery a straight rip from the Spectra isn't quite right, as I did re-make the livery completely to fit the repaint characteristics of the B7TL, but the livery itself is identical and easy to replicate. The main decision I had to make was how thick the red bands should be.
Paul S Winson was the first livery for the pack I began working on, as I knew getting the blue and red stripes to match up on all sides would be a royal pain. I've recently got it all matched up and looking the business, and I even went back and reproduced the PSW fleet names to an even higher standard than the ones on the Spectra.
Nottingham CT green and cream is a livery I did mainly because it was in the Spectra pack, even though in my eyes it didn't sit quite right on the ALX400 body. However, I based that decision on a Trident repaint I'd made, and looking at it on the B7TL I now think it looks quite good! The OMSI B7, with its bonded glass and lower height, looks more like NCT's Lolynes than the London-esque Trident, which might be a reason why.
The final livery is a bit of a random one, although you might recognise it from a previous screenshot I uploaded of an OMSI ALX Trident in the same colours. Because I wasn't keen on the green and cream ALX400, but also didn't want to include Network or Go2 liveries, I made a livery based off Solar Fusion 701's livery as new (and can now be seen on 704).

i made this doll some time ago, but didn´t post any pics, i don´t know why.
so, this is the mattel audrey hepburn doll repainted and restyled to look like like jo stockton in "funny face" .
she has a full face repaint and a new pivotal body, so she can dance :-)
the clothes are handsewed.
she is not for sale, she is part of my collecton.
