Services 3 and 30 terminate here at Clovenstone, on the south west of the city near to Wester Hailes. The lay-overs are often quite long here allowing plenty of opportunities for photos at all angles, and if you hop over the fence where I'm standing there's a raised bank for greater elevation. The light is best in the mornings with the sun moving round from the east, but afternoons can pose a greater challenge here as the photographer can find himself facing directly in to the sun.
Judging the light conditions, and low sunlight in winter are just two technical aspects that photographers require to calculate in advance and this can often determine whether frontal, rear, or profile shots are attainable to best effect.
Volvo B9TL, Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 number 928 (SN09 CVO) poses on her first morning in Weinrot und Weiss, Lothian's 'Classic' livery - a modern interpretation of Edinburgh's transport colours of over 100 years old featuring a dark ('madder') red and white with gold scriptings. Note the new logo now being rolled out across the entire public service fleet.
Freightliner liveried GL111 sits out the front of Islington Workshops with GL109 while VL351 lurks in the background on 27th December 2017.
GL111 owned by CFLCA was transferred to Islington Workshops from NSW for painting to into the CFCLA livery after a long term lease to Freightliner.
I think Arriva oddly painted two of the former United Mercedes L608s despite their age. A long time Richmond depot machine, 2459 D659CVN ended up at Bishop Auckland though wonder if it still had a Richmond blind?
1. Spray paint plastic Barbie furniture with many layers of cream paint (would have been better to use tan or pale gray). Let cure.
2. Paint several coats of "Mineral" chalk paint. I used "Elephant" on the cushions.
3. Dry brush with white chalk paint.
4. Seal with clear matte spray paint.

Progress on the ALX400-based follow up to the Optare Spectra Nottinghamshire repaint pack is still very much continuing, even if I don't have much time for OMSI at the moment. The first five liveries for the B7TL are done, with all the fiddly bits now lined up and 'signed off', as it were, so I can turn my attention to the remaining fifteen! (And then do it all again on the Tridents, naturally...)
Redfern is the nearest, and not satisfied with the plain green livery I decided to add the yellow stripes that they have on some of their buses, and I think it looks all the better for it - as well as being a massive help for when I come to do the Johnson Bros version.
Calling the Skills livery a straight rip from the Spectra isn't quite right, as I did re-make the livery completely to fit the repaint characteristics of the B7TL, but the livery itself is identical and easy to replicate. The main decision I had to make was how thick the red bands should be.
Paul S Winson was the first livery for the pack I began working on, as I knew getting the blue and red stripes to match up on all sides would be a royal pain. I've recently got it all matched up and looking the business, and I even went back and reproduced the PSW fleet names to an even higher standard than the ones on the Spectra.
Nottingham CT green and cream is a livery I did mainly because it was in the Spectra pack, even though in my eyes it didn't sit quite right on the ALX400 body. However, I based that decision on a Trident repaint I'd made, and looking at it on the B7TL I now think it looks quite good! The OMSI B7, with its bonded glass and lower height, looks more like NCT's Lolynes than the London-esque Trident, which might be a reason why.
The final livery is a bit of a random one, although you might recognise it from a previous screenshot I uploaded of an OMSI ALX Trident in the same colours. Because I wasn't keen on the green and cream ALX400, but also didn't want to include Network or Go2 liveries, I made a livery based off Solar Fusion 701's livery as new (and can now be seen on 704).

This is my interpretation of Cerise Hood from Ever After High. I make her a natural makeup, a little bit different of her original makeup from the Hat-Tastic Party collection, and I make her yellow eyes like her wolf eyes ~
CP 421-15 is seen here entering the Mactier Subdivision at Osler Street on a day which consisted of almost 100% rain. Both units here are sporting CP's revamped "Beaver" scheme and if I may say at least one positive thing about the rain it is that it makes bright red engines pop out way more than they normally would!
Early repaints into Go North East's new fleet livery (for non-branded buses) are two Optare Solo SR recently acquired from fellow Go Ahead company Thames Travel (Wallingford) Ltd.
Both are allocated to the Crook outstation for use on a local service in Bishop Auckland, where 695 is seen.
A further 4 similar buses are due to join the Go North East fleet shortly, one being 716 seen here with TT
The Coastliner700 Scanias on Stagecoach's marathon Brighton to Southsea route are currently going through repaint and in the process are losing their route branding. This has fuelled speculation that they are due to be replaced and rumours are rife. Rightly, and to their credit, those in the know are keeping quiet. What's not in any doubt, however, is that the repainted buses look stunning - as good as when they left the factory, as evidenced by Southdown 15597 (GX10 HBF) in North Street, Brighton, pictured in fading light a few weeks ago.
Ok, so you've removed the faceup! What next?
First off, for paints I use Artist Grade Liquitex Acrylic paint... and a fine brush.
For me, the most important thing about the brush is that it have a moldable tip... as in, you can press the bristles into a flat edge, or a rounded one... that way you only really need one brush.
Next, I paint, with a light tan color, the shape of the eyes. Now, this is not the shape of the whites, but the shape of the eye, upper eyelid and lower eyelid... so really think about this shape as you're painting it out. You don't want it to be too small or too big.
It doesn't matter if this goes on evenly... it will mostly get covered.
I got a blank Nyx from Yian in trade and just found time to paint her. It was so much fun to paint a doll without considerations of how well she will sell or other limitations. Just took a look from my avant garde make up inspiration folder and went for it!
Nyx wears Syb Cross hose, Swallow wings and Rock It shoes together with Inamorata Seraph corset, skirt and wig by PattaArt. Modsdoll heads are same size as Inamorata but more narrow and can wear softer hard cap wigs like the ones made by Patta.
