The instant camera is a type of camera which uses self-developing film to create a chemically developed print shortly after taking the picture. Polaroid Corporation pioneered (and patented) consumer friendly instant cameras and film, and were followed by various other manufacturers.

3ds Max + Corona render

I haven't been posting much action stuff because I haven't been doing much. Between an injury and hunkering down to avoid the rona, I haven't had many opportunities for action photos. However, I did make a trip to Southern Utah last month and got in one good sunset session. This is a new spot and it's got lots of potential. I really liked the composition on this photo, with the shadow creeping in from below. The title of the photo comes from the rider's name: Ren. I shoot with him a lot when I'm in the Hurricane/Zion area.

Palisade cruisers formed the backbone of Blocktron security forces operating over Ophlinus. As the nature of threats across Imyr shifted from small pirate raids to major corporate conflict, the versatile vessels saw extensive refits to extend and adapt their service.

As a counterpoint to photos of this year's Blackstone Valley Polar Express trains let's look back to another gray day three years ago that at least ran with 'proper' power in the form of GP38-2s 2006 and 2008 (blt. new for the railroad Feb. and Dec. 1980 respectively).

Copied below is the caption I wrote on the time when originally shared on FB long before I had my photography page or Flickr.

‐‐-------------------------------------------------------------

As I've told you before in previous posts the Providence & Worcester is my hometown road. It is inextricably linked to the river it follows.

The Blackstone River courses 48 miles from its headwaters near Worcester (at the confluence of the Middle River and Mill Brook) to where it flows into the Seekonk River and the headwaters of Narragansett Bay. The river drains a watershed of 640 square miles and more importantly drops 450 feet in the 48 miles. It is that drop, that made this river a pivotal point in American History.

From ririvers.org: "A series of steep drops along the length of the Blackstone River provided ideal conditions for the development of water powered industry. Samuel Slater arrived in America in 1790, with managerial experience and technical knowledge of textile manufacturing in England. With the assistance of local merchants and artisans, he helped establish the first successful water-powered textile mill in America. Slater Mill was established on the Blackstone River, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. This achievement is credited with spawning the birth of America's industrial revolution. Development of the Slater textile mill catalyzed the development of water-driven technology throughout the length of the Blackstone River. By 1914 water-powered mills occupied all of the readily available dam sites in the Valley."

As the birthplace of industrial America, the need for transportation quickly arose in the valley, and between 1825 and 1828 the Blackstone Canal was constructed. The canal lasted only 20 years having been rendered obsolete by the opening of the Providence and Worcester Railroad in 1847. The railroad has proven to be a more durable method of transportation and 171 years after its opening I was out photographing the modern incarnation of the P&W on it's home rails.

Just as the railroad's history is tied forever with the Blackstone River, so is it's physical route. In its 43 rail miles between its namesake points it crosses the river 14 times (counting one crossing of the Middle River). In this series of photos I have a shot of four of those crossings that are found along the route of my chase between Woonsocket, RI and Uxbridge, MA.

The northbound train is again seen crossing the river in the woods at about MP 23.2 on the mainline near Skull Rock Landing. The thru truss span clearly shows evidence that the route was once double tracked during the era of New Haven control.

Hello everyone!

Today I bring you the F-302! A Starfighter from one of my favorite sci-fi universes, the Stargate franchise.

Into the middle of the series, the good guys known throughout the galaxies as the Tau’ri, created a fighter to rival the Goa’uld (bad guys).

This is that fighter! The F-302 is a large fighter fully equipped with close combat rail guns, long range missiles and a Hyperdrive!

It can be controlled by a pilot and a copilot and has long range sensors.

While I was working on this moc, I also discovered that there were 2 versions of the F-302, in universe and it was never mentioned in the series, which is weird since every time the characters got some kind of technological upgrade they would talk about it.

Anyways, this is the first version!

This moc has 1432 pieces.

It measures:

54cm wide

33cm long

14.6cm tall

Can you guess what will be the next vehicle from this universe that I’m going to tackle?

Leave a like and comment if you appreciate this post! 😁

General Sargas Ruk is the final boss of the Saturn system. The head of one of the Grineer Artifact extraction projects, Sargas Ruk was targeted by the Lotus for annexing Tenno-controlled dig sites. The Macintosh Plus computer is the third model in the Macintosh line, introduced on January 16, 1986, two years after the original Macintosh and a little more than a year after the Macintosh 512K, with a price tag of US$2599. As an evolutionary improvement over the 512K, it shipped with 1 MB of RAM standard, expandable to 4 MB, and an external SCSI peripheral bus, among smaller improvements. It originally had the same generally beige-colored case as the original Macintosh ("Pantone 453"), but in 1987, the case color was changed to the long-lived, warm gray "Platinum" color. It is the earliest Macintosh model able to run System 7 OS.

Re-render my P1000 Ratte I made back in the days when I had too much time on my hands

This picture dates from September 2008, the worst month of my life. I had just moved into my shithole flat due to unhappy circumstances. The only furniture i had was a borrow mattress to sleep on, and a small 12 inch tv propped up on my suitcase.

There was scaffolding outside the window that made it feel like a prison.

Oh my... If you build on the computer at all, I strongly suggest that you go try out the new render tool on Stud.io 2.0. Seeing my batmobile like this is awesome, and now I can't wait to put in the orders. Thank you Bricklink!

Another render of one of my favorite Bionicle characters

Modeled in TopMod. Sub-divided in meshlab to save time. For some reason meshlab can sub-divide in less than a second when TopMod takes 5 or more minutes. Rendered in Sunflow.

"She closed her eyes and drew upon all her power. If she had any doubt or regrets, she pushed them aside. Helryx would do what she had always done: whatever was necessary."

— Narrator, Reign of Shadows

Helryx was the first Toa ever designed by the Great Beings. She never was a Matoran, and possesses both immense Elemental Power capabilities and a unique Mask of Psychometry that allows her to read the past of items she touches.

Helryx long since forgone the Toa Code, because for her mission and purpose - leading the secretive Order of Mata Nui - its restrictions are but a liability.

Wise and sublime like a stormy weather in an open ocean, she leads her Order to oppose anyone who wants to harm the Matoran or the Great Spirit.

She's a cunning politician, but make no mistake: she may take what she wants with force, and erase you and everything in a radius of several kio, and will not think twice.

Her appearance is frail, but her body is prepared for combat, although she prefers using her mace and shield to channel her Elemental Powers.
