If I'm posting photographs of the Berkeley Marina it can only mean one thing: the test flight of a new rig. In this case it is a new HoVer cradle built for the Canon Digital Rebel XTi here with the kit 18-55 mm lens.

I often say I have a lifetime supply of Berkeley waterfront images so I do not shoot there often. But the silky smooth winds there make it my traditional place for the first flight of a new rig.

I took over 40 pics of this guy, but I'm going to spare you all from having to see all of them and make this my last posting.

This is the alternative to posting photos other than the previous spring ones. The path through the lawn is my way of getting to the back yard to feed the ferile cats that are living under my shed. The snow is about half way between my knees and my hips, to give you an idea of it's depth. Not a pretty sight for a spring and summer person like me. I'd much rather see flowers and ducks. More snow forecasted for Tuesday and Wednesday. Mother Nature PLEASE give this girl a break! I need color and warmth. The temperature is forecasted to be in the single digits by morning. HELP!!!! As I post this it is now 15 degrees.

For Monsieur Chariot

For this posting, I chose to contrast nature and city. Showing that there can be growth in building architecture and nature at the same time.

Also posting this for #ds140: "Sunday challenge: Create a photograph that makes you feel happy looking at it. Don't stop at good. Go for full on happy." www.dailyshoot.com/assignments/140

posting things that aren't photos just so i have a place to look at my portfolio

Two things struck me about this red post box on Eton High Street.

First of all, the insignia of the red post box is GR - which would have been King George V, most likely.

Second, the sign atop the postbox directs you to the Post Office which is close by. Not seen one of these in years.

just posting this to show i haven't disappeared.

my laptop is being stupid; i can't seem to resolve the low disk space issue, so i haven't uploaded any photos to my computer in quite a while. thank goodness i'm using my 8gb card.

but i check everyone's things quite often, and i'm still looking out for any neat ideas or projects :) flickr is now blocked from our school internet system, so i can't upload my work straight from there anymore.

but i do have some things i want to try very soon.

hopefully i fix this problem soon. not posting my 365 pictures is screwing up my sense of what day it is!

i took these pictures one night, for joey who was ill. i put them into this video at school the following day. just for him, yep. the music isn't great, i just threw some loops together. playing it on flickr makes me wish the drum bits weren't as loud. oh well haha.

this one's for you, joey. i'm glad you aren't sick anymore.

Just after posting the city light images I remember that not long ago I saw similar sunset when I was in a fishing trip. So I check the drivers and find this picture in the corner ^_^

I guess no one could blame me for posting a picture of a huge Black Bear leaning on my home yesterday instead of these? The truth is, I really had to do alot cropping and experimenting to present these photos in a way that you could even tell they were of Beavers. Thank Goodness I had my little P&S Kodak with me and thought to take a few shots with it. Even though I took over 100 pics with the Nikon, it was just too light sensitive and I was way too far away to get sharp pictures. 99% made the beavers look like nothing but 2 rocks jutting out of the water.

BUT what a wonderful experience!! Beavers are very common in Vermont, but I haven't had much luck finding anything but their dams lately. This was truly a lucky find and will remain "secret" -- I doubt anyone else will find this except the National Park Rangers. The area is along an old, old dead-end road that rarely gets used for anything. It isn't even marked as you come off the main route, but I have been taking my dogs swimming there for years. (Even both my Dalmatians loved this particular spot many years ago) So when Jerica was suffering badly from the 95+ heat 2 days ago, I decided to let her go cool off there. It's less than 3 miles from my house & I thought I might take a dip, too. Then we saw the Turtle!! I wouldn't have even looked, stopped, seen this beaver-made pond area, if it weren't for the Turtle!!

Then I see Dragonflies!! Yea!! I'm standing there hoping one of them would land, camera in hand, when out of the corner of my eye, I see this brown head bee-bopping along in the water. I was sure it was just Jerica, until I look down and she is right beside me. Yahoo, not one, but TWO Beavers -- obviously a pair, and very likely agitated because they have young ones somewhere near. They swim and swim and swim in circles, past each other, and every once in a while the larger one does the warning tail slap (if you haven't ever heard this, it sounds just like a gun shot) It was a marvelous show and I took so many pictures, not realizing until I got home that the position of the sun made most of them worthless. But believe it or not, photographs are only secondary to some of the experiences I have been having this Spring. Do I love sharing them with you? YES!! Am I using Flickr as a personal blog -- yes, and I guess I should learn to create my own website. Hope you all don't mind.

Posting pictures from awhile back. These Canyon Wrens make quite a racket, and are extremely shy!

After posting the photo of the blue ball on my extremely old and tatty hall rug, I decided enough was enough and it was time to get a new hall rug.

The floor beneath is still horrible, but at least the rug is nice to sit on now!

Apologies for the slight motion blur on Lucy's muzzle. She cocked her head at me just as I snapped the photo. I still liked it.

Posting 5 photos of the Ravens in the volcanic Caldera National park on La Palma island in Canary islands. they were so confiding & I expect used to handouts from tourists. Very clever birds & magnificent to see so close. Superb tour in gorgeous sunshine with a coach trip to visitor centre & then drive up to 2400feet followed by 25 minute walk to edge of the caldera

Posting this to announce to friends in the digital arena that tonight I got the update to Essential 4 and thus far it is working. This was done early in my experimentation with digital painting and I used too many different media techniques on it, but it wasn't a bad beginning. I always use my own photos and will continue unless I notify you. This makes Arkansas look better than it really looks, but this was a gorgeous pasture.

This handsome boy does like to cuddle and he already does the Basset roll over to get a tummy rub.

Single five minute shot of M38 in Auriga with the 80mm ED doublet. The night was getting on and I was getting tired. This image is not cropped, so if you zoom in you can see the (to my eye minor) effect of field curvature. Field curvature grows like the square of the distance from the center of the image, so even cropping out the outermost 30% (15% on either side) of the image reduces the small amount shown here by 1/2, making it almost impossible to see.

Who could resist that sweet face and all of those freckles. Looks like papa with mama's freckles.

I am posting this double blue screens of death to evoke my current rage at BFG tech, the manufacturer (?) of my video card. They sent me my replacement video card today, but they sent me the wrong one (it didn't have HDTV video out). SO MAD!

I've had at least 4 video cards returned to BFG and this has been going on for 4 months now. GET IT TOGETHER,GUYS.

But on a happier note, hey guys! Yesterday was comic day. Woohoo!

Posting her self portrait to Instagram or just sending it to all her friends. B/c she's an addict like me. LOL! XD

after a day with these kids (( and david -far right )) a photo...

all of them with their new shoes we bought them...

Posting this with some reluctance as the B/G grass is a bit contrasty. But....the fuzzy duck season is about over and I didn't get a chance to get any decent shots. Not that Flickr needs another fuzzy duck image.

This is the last I'll be posting of this year's stay in San Francisco. Although it's good to be back in Amsterdam, I feel that I miss Frisco badly. It's a bit like being homesick. And I've never been homesick before.

Strange.

The San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge (legally The James "Sunny Jim" Rolph Bridge and known locally as the Bay Bridge) is a series of bridges in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, in the United States. Forming part of Interstate 80 and of the direct road route between San Francisco and Oakland, it carries approximately 270,000 vehicles per day on its two decks. It has one of the longest spans in the world. (Source: Wikipedia)

San Francisco is the fourth most populous city in California and the 12th most populous city in the United States, with a 2008 estimated population of 808,976. The only consolidated city-county in California, it encompasses a land area of 46.7 square miles (121 km2) on the northern end of the San Francisco Peninsula, making it the second most densely populated city in the United States. San Francisco is also the financial, cultural, and transportation center of the larger San Francisco Bay Area, a region of 7.4 million people.
