Posting from Portugal .... I will get to your photos when I have better access to the Internet.
I'm re-posting this one because I made subtle changes in the editing and I think I like it better now.
It seems to be a popular shot alot of people had requested to buy a copie.
So I'm looking into framing it on Canvas and adding it to my collection for my craft shows at the end of the year!.
Unfortunately I can't edit out the print of the wood-board. Hens why it's in black and white the shot. The long stripe and print are in bright red and black. Which ruins the shot! Too much distraction I think...
Anyway I hope you you don't mind seeing the shot a second time... Hope you like it! :)
POSTING JUVENILE BIRDS FROM HOME............
=======================================
A FAMILIAR SPECIES, in part because of its affinity for human habitation. Waiting to be fed, by its parents. The species predilection for nesting in roof spaces , holes in walls and dence hedges. they do take to nest boxes, but best to provide a group of them, as they prefere to nest in company of other sparrows.
=====================
THANK YOU for your visit and kind comments, will return to your lastest posting to do the same, which I enjoy very much.
Enjoy your day, God bless.......................................Tom.
=======================
For GOD so loved the world so much that he gave his only SON, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. ( John 3. 16 )
** Its rather sad to be posting the final shot from a trip but this is the last one from the road trip we took in 2016 . We drove from Santa Fe to New Orleans via parts of Texas . Certainly saw quite a range of different landscapes and cultures .
One of the highlights was spending time at Jefferson Island in Louisiana . Roseate Spoonbills are certainly the oddest birds I have ever seen and it was a good opportunity to see large group of them close up . I am in debt to two flickr contacts Cajun Snapper and Larry Daugherty who gave me hints and directions to a small pool on Jefferson Island.
Well that’s the end of travel shots from 2016 so will be posting stuff from 2017 soon. Its a good job I am so far behind given that this year does not look like it will be adding a great deal to my travel collection
THANKS FOR YOUR VISITING BUT CAN I ASK YOU NOT TO FAVE AN IMAGE WITHOUT ALSO MAKING A COMMENT. MANY THANKS KEITH. ANYONE MAKING MULTIPLE FAVES WITHOUT COMMENTS WILL SIMPLY BE BLOCKED
sorry for posting another butterfly today ;-) I promise the next one is with a rising sun, some fog and possible a windmill...
It's very bad weather today but i decided this afternoon to go for a little walk and see how nature is booming in my area.
I couldn't believe my eyes when i discovered this nice guy.
The bokeh is caused by some grass in front of the lens.
Orange tip ♂
Thanks everyone for visiting my stream.
Posting this next to yesterdays Western Grebe as makes it easy to see the difference in Grebes. The Clark's Grebe the black crown ends above their eyes and their beaks are more orange, where the western Grebe black crest ends below their eyes.
Grebe chicks will ride on their parents backs for 2-4wks. I read the red patch on their forehead which is not often visible indicates they are hungry.
They were pretty far out in the water. This is a big crop.

Posting the front and back views reminds me of the Joni Mitchell song - 'Both Sides Now'
I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

Posting as part of the 3-day celebration for our rockstar buddy [Travelling without Moving] who grew up in Holland and now lives in..guess where...😊
Have you heard him sing? Check out his youtube channel "She Loves Disco". Here is a sample of his awesome voice 👉https://youtu.be/zqW9nMjA7Ew
reloaded posting, very bad weather with hazy sky in Penang during this trip,sigh..
wish we could see such beautiful yummy eggyolk when we visit Penang again.
Uncle Alan and Ken, this image's really for the both of you, most of our contacts have seen this:-)
so far the best sunrise we had in Malaysia.. Thanks Y choong for your company and recommendation, worth waking up early for such view.. cheers and all would wake up to see such nice sunrise, merry christmas again..
Another posting from an evening on Higger Tor last week, with the distinctive outline of Over Owler Tor and the surrounding high ground silhouetted against a clearing bank of mist in the Derwent Valley beyond. I was particularly struck by the sight of the remnants of the mist swirling around the stands of trees in Longshaw Estate, which can be seen to the left of this scene.
I took this shot on my walk back down to the car after watching the sunrise up on Yew Crag. The views down the Southern end of Ullswater are just wonderful all the way down this path. The sun was up and catching the fence posts, with the diagonal of the path leading my eye back down towards Glenridding and Patterdale.
Couldn't resist stopping and taking yet another shot of this Lakeland Winter scene.
Posting this Reddish Egret launching across Saint Charles Bay reminds me that I left another one in the midst of an attack on Bolivar. Next up, the rest of that story.
I could not resist posting one more photo of a Female Goldfinch gathering fluff for her nest. The females are still hard at work even though it seems they have been doing it for weeks. They really must be creating the deluxe version of their nests this year :)
Definitely View On Black
I wish everyone a very happy Sunday.
Apologies for posting yet more sunbeams
Whimsically posting one of my many, many loon pics ... even though they are now wintering somewhere in Georgia, U.S.A. (at least that's what Google says). I am already pining for them to return. Winter is wonderful at Keefer Lake but it is much too long.

Practice shot before the big night.
The Horror. I dropped my computer early Christmas Eve Day right after posting this pic and smashed the screen. It has been in the shop from the day after Christmas till Martin Luther Kings Birthay. I have a lot of catching up to do.
As I have mentioned in a prior posting I tend to wander off the beaten track traveling and will hang out where the locals live if possible, I don’t mind sticking my head through a fence or gate if necessary when I see a shot worth taking.
This shot was on a street I had thought had no shot opportunities and its only purpose in my mind was to get me elsewhere, when I walked by this perfect scene behind a wrought iron gate.
I am a very big researcher for my trips I tend to have planned everything down to the letter with multiple options for closure, weather and mood, that is my process when I have this framework in place I can relax and operate as loosely as I like to do whatever strikes my fancy at the time.
Always make some time for the unexpected otherwise you will miss some amazing opportunities for connecting with the locals and locale, stop and smell the proverbial roses and experience the true flavor of a place.
Disclaimer: Not trying to be realistic in my editing there is enough realism in the world, my style is a mix of painterly and romanticism as well as a work in progress.
I took this with my D750 and Tamron SP 24-70 2.8 G2 Lens processed in LR, PS and DXO Nik
LUCKY OPPORTUNITY to photograph one of these Slim and Savage predators, active by day and night, it relentlessly tracks down its prey by scent. It often kills prey more than twice its size, biting deeply into the neck.
Captured at Elmley Nature Reserve in Kent.

THANK YOU for your visit and friendship. Please leave a comment, and I will try to do the same for your latest posting.
Keep safe and well, God bless

USA 2016
We went to USA in September 2016. These next set of images are from just a few of the places that we visited. It is a fantastic place to explore. These images are from Boston and other places and represent a few of the buildings and architectural features that were photographed at the time. Only one problem, you’re never there long enough so much to see and experience.
This is the third of a number of postings.
Wishing everyone a happy, peaceful and safe festive holiday 😊
I'll be posting on and off over the holiday break, which runs from now to Hogmanay here is Scotland.
My Festive images set: Here
These two postings are from the archives, but I couldn't think of a better way of sending out the old year, bringing in the new, except with a beautiful sunset. I just love sunsets....and particularly those that are over a body of water! How beautiful is that?! I hope you've had a wonderful year....and the new year is filled with an abundance of blessings!
Hard to believe this was actually 10 years ago! My how time flies! Hope you all enjoy!

POSTING JUVENILE BIRDS FROM HOME.
====================================
JUVENILES have mainly buffish-brown plumage that is palest on the face and underparts. Chaffinch can be found in the region thrughout the year, in almost all habitats. Outside the breedng season influxes of birds from northern mainland Europe probably more that double the population during the winter months, flocks of these immigrants can be seen foraging for seeds on the ground. THE PATTERN ABOVE is similar to that seen on the male, but at this stage is hard to know what sex it will be eventually.

THANK YOU for your visit and comment, will look forward to seeing your lastest postings.
Enjoy the Lords day.............Stay safe and well.......God bless you

Posting today's picture quite early.
I'm no expert but I think it's a species of plant called Japanese Barberry.
Used a low exposure and used the sun's light to capture the highlights.
"Outside the Tomato Factory" 2015
Shall be posting an Image a day for the next year, 365 (or 366 if it is a Leap year...not checked!!).
The Format will be different...some images have been shown before, some are new...... At the moment I am now starting a "New" Project.....Well it is "New" for me, although it has been done before by many, many People too!!!.
I will follow the direction I have chosen but there is plenty of room for me to chop and change at a later date...I guess it depends how I feel about it at a later date.
This Project will now give me the time to work with other ideas I am playing with. There will still be months in which I post other pics too from themes I have worked with in the past......I have just made a little more time and space available to me.
So hope you like the changes.......
check out Dragonflydreams88, Sher and I went on this adventure together and I'm sure she will be posting her images....awesome trip.
Posting a little late ......but for Slider's Sunday the "Gold" of Iowa make a good subject for July-August
Various interpretation of the bonnet livery--one war and one blue--have the Santa Fe adequately represented against the calm morning waters of the Meramec River at Times Beach, the second of 4 encounters H STLTUL4 18A will have with the Meramec on its trip "upriver" across the Cuba Subdivision in southern Missouri. The Frisco selected a three deck truss span design to bridge the river at this location, the current configuration of which rests on the concrete half of the inconsistently constructed piers left from when the route was double tracked on its easternmost 34 miles between St. Louis and nearby Pacific. Times Beach is more well known as the infamous site of one of America's more memorable residential contaminations, described in detail in a prior posting for those intrigued: www.flickr.com/photos/54360625@N08/31929037954/in/photoli...
I couldn't make up my mind how to crop this. So I've ended with a hotch-potch of differeht attempts.

Howdy, gang. Things have been real hectic around these parts lately and on top of all that Dad's camera has stopped working so for now we'll be posting some of last years photos of around this time until that issue is straightened out.
We hope everyone is well and having a great year!

The photo is from last winter - since it didn't work out this winter and the nights will soon be too bright, I'm posting this photo. This is how the light show greeted me when I set up my camera in the forest in the middle of the night.
I took this shot on a ski trip on Romeriksåsen, which is a large forest area where I live.
Romeriksåsen. Norway.
posting for: Saturday Self-Challenge: triptych
...a difficult challenge redeemed for me by a shower of rain at sunset plus the proximity of my camera + macro lens.....
posting for:
Looking Close on Friday: objects in pastel colours
I've always loved the pastel scenes my Flickr friends post. I found this really difficult so if anybody wishes to share a little expertise with me, that would be very welcome!
gratitude for all visits, faves and comments
I am posting two images together since they look somewhat similar in terms of the mountain range in the background, but they were taken from two different vantage points (facing different directions).
Taken before sunrise, from Valley View Hotel, facing Mounument Valley
East Mitten Butte
