Color My World ~ Green for Today's Posting #TP601

I dont' like posting night shots - the camera clearly has a harder time creating good pictures with low light. But when I have one of those days where nothing significant occurs until the sun is long gone...what are my options?

Tonight was something of a collision of two of my worlds. My HS friend Vaccaro met up with me and Lili in Harvard Square. If I had to pick two people from unrelated parts of my life to put together with the hopes that they may get along, I'd try pairing these two first. In a nutshell, it was fun. It was a pure joy to have everyone get along and keep the jovial setting going well past 2am. Everyone could talk about Chloe bags and Victoria Beckham this night. To make things even better, Vaccaro called her Harvard BF to come join us, and the group of four of us were just pleased as punch (**Lili) to be together.

Not an extravagantly wonderful evening, but extremely satiating, fun, and comfortable. Perhaps this is that feeling (I must have forgotten it) that you get when you are settled in an apartment and a city, with your friends and your job, and you celebrate just another Friday. That is to say, this is just life. Boston has become life! (.....I guess that means it's time to move on again.....)

I was very reluctant to post this photograph, my wife was looking through the photographs in the camera, and ask why didn’t I post this particularly photo, I told her it was very disturbing due to the mans injury, she informed me she saw the man in many different locations playing and begging for money and I should post the photograph.

This picture can probably be interpreted multiple ways, which is why I like it for the 'growth' posting. I view it as a guy meditating outdoors in nature, working on his own personal growth. There are also the natural aspects of the picture, such as the two young trees, which are red and obviously going into hibernation for the winter, but are in the process of growing themselves.

It would appear that during the fun and joy of the Easter holidays, Jesus was once again resurrected, this time as a fence post.

If you travel along the road to Kennoway just north of the Cults crossroads, you'll find a rock with M spray painted on it. This rock is clearly the resurrected Moses.

My husband knows how to cook only one speciality....popcorn. He pops it in an old popper that has a long handle and sits on a stand. He has it down to a science, filling three large plastic bowls, then filling bags and delivering them to friends. Today he popped some for my friend who was coming over to visit for the first time since her cancer has returned.

#288 Today's posting (Make a photograph that illustrates an aspect of communication)

What's better than Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving with kids. Which is quickly surpassed by Thanksgiving with kids and a bouncy thing.

Best part about this photo: Setting up the pose & letting the kids slide down and (carefully) crash into each other! Those are real smiles. (Even on the little girl who got crashed into kind of hard, but decided tears weren't worth it. Not when she could show off her toothless grin :)

I am posting a few shots of a bird that doesn't belong in Florida, but visited us from across the salt water a few years ago. From time to time we get vagrants from the islands of the Caribbean and this bird showed up in Everglades National Park in September of 2010.

I can’t remember if my brother-in-law Ron made a special trip from Arkansas to see it or if he just happened to be here at the right time. Anyway, he was here, and the two of us drove down to see if we could get a look at what turned out to be a lifer for both of us.

We arrived at Long Pine Key in the park and set up to wait in the area where the bird had been seen. After a period of time I heard a song which I knew was not of a local flycatcher so that helped us locate it.

The bird in question was a Cuban Pewee, sometimes called Crescent-eyed Pewee because of the little sliver of a moon shaped spot behind its eye. You can see the spot in my photos, which aren't that great but are, as Ron says; “Identifiable”

Posting some scraps I've had laying around...

Quit about mid line work. This could have been cool!

Posting this as an example of how a simple step/hop to left or right can completely change the composition and appeal of a given scene.

My personal favorite is the other version. (Now, if only my 28-135 lens would work properly.)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Posting something a little different from the portraits that I have been doing lately.

What do you think?

I apologize for posting so many at once, but I have two wildflower albums to feed; "East Tennessee Wildflower" and "Spring Colors". I have quite an extensive collection of wildflowers in both, IF you are ever out and get stumped on what something is called.

Just scroll down and watch for colors to pass and I'm sure you'll find your answer.

Some are repeats, but with a new camera I try each season to get better shots of each type.
