Deboxing the Designer SQ Elsa and Hans Doll Set. Elsa has been deboxed. She is posed standing, supported by a Kaiser stand. Her cape is in a normal partially opened position, and her right leg is showing through the slit in the skirt. Her hair braid is draped over her left shoulder.
I have finally deboxed the Designer Fairytale Snow Queen Elsa and Hans Doll Set (2015). My set is #4597 of 6000. It was the only set that I didn't get at the Disney Store raffle, so I had to order her online. I show the set boxed, during deboxing and fully deboxed. After deboxing them, I place them back on their display stand, in a different pose.
I was a little surprised that Elsa has the body construction of the 2012 DS Classic Princess dolls, so has external hinged knee joints and ankle joints. It makes her legs a bit unsightly when they are exposed by opening the slit of the skirt. She has shiny pearlescent skin that is similar to the Harrods Elsa doll, but doesn't have the heavy blush. Her Snow Queen outfit also has embellishments that are more similar to that of the Harrods Elsa rather than that of the LE 2500 Snow Queen Elsa. But rather than the jeweled snowflakes of the 17'' LE Elsa she has single clear rhinestones throughout her braid, and a few on her head. The snowflake and icicle design in her cape are printed rather than embroidered (as in the 17'' LE Elsas) or glittered (as in the Classic Elsa). They are flat and smooth, and I don't think are as effective in depicting ice.
The major embellishments of Designer Hans over Classic Hans are the addition of white gloves, and a sword. However, It's disappointing that there is no scabbard for the sword - it is loosely sewn to his pants legs, which looks rather cheap.
I will show the dolls in side by side comparisons to other Elsa and Hans dolls in future postings.

BOX DATE: 1998
MANUFACTURER: Mattel
VARIATIONS: Blonde; African American; brunette; redhead
BODY TYPE: 1966; pearlescent molded B print panties; Twist 'n Turn waist; half bent arms; ring hole; bend & snap knees
HEAD MOLD: 1991 "Bob Mackie"; pierced ears
***My doll is wearing 1998 Pretty in Plaid (the African American version) Barbie's dress.
PERSONAL FUN FACT: I'm the sort of collector who is naturally more inclined towards playline dolls than collector series ones. I also gravitate most towards slim box dollies...they just have such an irreplaceable appeal. That's why I've always taken a shine towards dolls like Pretty in Plaid Barbie. In fact, I think I have a vague memory of seeing her stocked in stores like KB Toys, and wistfully thinking about buying one. I additionally think it's cool that many of these slim box lines were available in a range of different hair colors and ethnicities. Rather than the line being comprised of Barbie and friends, sometimes they consisted only of Barbie herself, but in a variety of different forms. My brunette doll was my first Pretty in Plaid lady. I got the African American outfit she's wearing with her (I'm assuming their was an AA Barbie in her lot once upon a time). She came from the "60 Doll bin" of 2013, which became infamous for its hoards of ethnic dolls and cool variants. When I first saw this doll, I feared she had a haircut. But I had a hunch deep down that perhaps her hair was so bluntly cut because it was once upon a time in a very specific style. I'm glad I opted to identify her first before using her as a body donor. It turns out that her awkward hair cut was due to her original high ponytail hairstyle.
On my second attempt to get the the Limited Edition Wedding Cinderella 17'' Doll from eBay, I finally got her! I got her with the help of a fellow collector. She is #450 of 500, and was originally sold by the Japan Disney Store. There is a Japanese sticker on the bottom of the box. She was shipped double boxed, and very well packed. She arrived in perfect condition.
She is very beautiful, and has a serene expression, rather than the grumpy pout of the LE Ballgown Cinderella doll. Her lips have a slight smile, which is part of why she has a more pleasant expression than the other doll, who shares the same face mold. She is glancing in the opposite direction of the Ballgown Cinderella, and her skin has a matte surface, rather than the shiny pearly surface of the Ballgown doll. Her pale yellow wedding gown has many differently sized and colored rhinestones enhancing the printed floral pattern. There are also several small jeweled plastic butterflies in the skirt, hidden amongst the flowers. The decorations continue throughout the back of the dress. There are also faux pearl buttons on her sleeves and on the back of her bodice. Her skirt is very full with a long train, and is in three differently colored layers. Under her skirts is a 3/4 length single layer tulle petticoat. Attached to her hair is an oversized pale yellow sheer chiffon veil. She has golden earrings and a jeweled golden tiara. Her wedding ring is a floral design with five golden beads; it is pinned to her hand. She has the old style legs, with fixed ankles. She is wearing simple ivory heels, with no decorations.
I will be posting a full set of detailed photos of this doll. She will be shown boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed, both by herself and with other Disney Store dolls.

I love it when inspiration comes from many places! A Blog Named Hero has a challenge going on now to make your own embellishment, so I had started to make this flower a few days ago... no idea what I was going to do with it.
THEN Barb and Marcy came up with this fun challenge and I knew! The problem was how do I represent the rest of their inspiration photo?
Apparently, you have to play in a Hero Arts Scramble! Linda hosted this (www.flickr.com/groups/heroarts/discuss/72157632958889306/ ) fun challenge yesterday and asked us to use embossing - heat or dry - and she had a beautiful card for which she had embossed a sentiment on vellum.
Here you see the results:
Hero Arts Stamps: Blossom Art and It's Your Day
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug Spots and Dots, colored in with Memento and Tombow markers then run through CB onto Neenah Solar White.
The flower was stamped twice and heat embossed in white onto a piece of glossy CS which already had been tinted with Eggplant and Purple Twilight alcohol inks. After fussy cutting both, I inked the backs with Hero Arts Grape Juice mid tone ink, mounted one over the other with a double layer of foam adhesive and curled the petals. (I colored the edges of the foam purple as well.) The center was created by layering two snowflakes made with a Martha Stewart punch out of pearlescent white CS.
The HA sentiment white embossed on green vellum is meant to reflect the ribbon from the inspiration photo. do the little dots in the font remind you of stitching too?

BOX DATE: 2021
MANUFACTURER: M.G.A.
DOLLS IN PACK: Candylicious; Alt Grrrl; Busy B.B.; Miss Independent
RELEASES: 2020 separately sold; 2020 Bon Bon Family; 2021 4 Pack; 2022 Series 2 "Re-release"
IMPORTANT NOTES: The 2022 "Re-release" was packaged without the shoe box, hat box, hangers, hair ornaments, and booklet.
PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: This outfit is adorable and a lovely combination of pastel colors with a metallic shine. However, apart from the earrings, what is "Candylicious" about it? The earrings look like little bonbons. They are sort of like earrings that Shelly made out of clay for our Sugar Coated Holly O'Hair doll--but smaller and in pastel shades. But the rest of the outfit doesn't really look edible. It would've fit more if they'd done candy prints on her outfit. Not to say that I don't love this outfit. It does, when on the lovely doll, give off a fantasy vibe--sort of like the characters in the Candyland game. I especially like the top with the pearlescent glow. I love the zigzag design on her tights. The skirt is very pretty too. It reminds me of something I've seen on Bratz. Her shoes are super cute. My favorite accessory (besides the earrings), however, is the backpack--such a cute teddy! It's just so innocent and playful. The hair bangles are interesting, but not practical--I imagine how easy it would be for them to pop out of her hair if she's moved around too much. Her hatbox, shoe box, and hangers are interesting pastel colors, just like everything else.
My 2015 Elsa Limited Edition 17'' Doll, fully deboxed. She is posed standing, supported by the included doll stand.
The Limited Edition Elsa Doll, released in stores in North America on March 3, 2015. My doll is #2942 of 5000. She is in jeweled purple felt (made from faux wool). This is the outfit she wore as an 18 year old when saying good bye to her parents before their overseas journey. She is wearing ice blue jeweled satin gloves, which help repress her ice powers. Her hands are clasped together. Her pose and look are that of a sternly repressed nature. She is standing in front a purple window of the Castle, which is closed, as she is closed to the outside world.
She is wearing black flats with floral decoration. Her jacket is pinned to her dress, which I left alone, as it helps to keep the jacket from opening up. There was a large amount of tissue paper stuffing under her skirt. I had to remove her from the doll stand before I could remove the tissue.
She has shiny pearlescent skin, and her skin tone is between that of Coronation Elsa and Snow Queen Elsa. In bright lighting, her skin is iridescent with a a purple sheen. Her hair is slicked down in the front and is in a bun in the back. There is gold tinsel in her hair, even in her side burns.

Her highly editorial make up has a pearlescent green scale pattern running from her brow to the back of her head, red and gold lips, rust coloured eyes and wild eyeshadow covering her brow with multi coloured leaf gold. The look is finished with green sequins as bindi and below her eyes.
The translucent netting dress is a hand stitched with thick scaly clusters of red and green sequins and beads to accentuate feminine form. The netting boots with Classic Stiletto heels have a line of red sequins running down the back seam.
Both doll and the fashion are available in the shop now:
Deboxing the 2015 LE Elsa Doll. First the front cardboard lid is removed, revealing a clear plastic window underneath. Then the plastic window and rear cardboard lid are removed, leaving the doll attached to a free standing cardboard backing. The Certificate of Authenticity is removed from below the backing.
Her hair is slicked down in the front and is in a bun in the back. There is gold tinsel in her hair, even in her side burns.

Happy New Year!
Here she is in her box! I bought her at Meijer this morning for 19.99. They only had two, and it was only the evil queen. I bought one.lol I assume they have already sold out of Ursula. I didn't see any traces of the new disney signature princesses. The evil queen is very pretty, especially for a Mattel play line disney doll. One thing I will have to say is, I think this is a play line doll, instead of a collector doll. It came with no certificate, or stand. It also has the hollow plastic legs, and very stiff joints for sturdy play. Her outfit is made out of a couple different fabrics. Her dress is the typical stiff Mattel satin. Her sleeves are a almost polyester spandexy material. Her cape is a felt like material, that they use alot with velcro. So it's not the nicest. The cowl is the same stiff satin Mattel uses. Her crown is a hard plastic painted in gold chrome. It stays on with plastic pegs, that connects to the back of her head. Her head is a pearlescent peach vinyl, with crushed black velvet lining her face. The crushed velvet goes all around her head instead of half way, so thank goodness.lol her apple is the same plastic as the crown, but painted in red and green chrome paint. It has a prong that specially fits in the queens specially molded hand. Her belt is a soft gold plastic, could be rubber. Her shoes are a hard gold plastic, and have the skull apple embellishments on the tip. All in all, I think for a Mattel doll, she's worth it! Especially if you don't have a evil queen. And I actually prefer this one over the Disney store one.

Starting to the get the hang of casting resin with pearlescent pigments. Now all we have to do is get the hang of photographing them. The chairs shimmer and glow as they swing freely back and forth. Light weight, fun, and they make quite a statement - although we haven't quite figured out what that is. Maybe "Express Your Ambiguity". What kind of a person wears chairs in their ears anyway.

no freckles. Not goth. Eyebrows should not be too long, too short, too thin, too thick, too dark or too light. -___-
Another instruction I got for all the dolls is not to use cheap lashes and to make sure they show up and don't fall off....I have to say my lash application is fairly sturdy. Just dont dunk in water or pull hard on them.
I had several thoughts here. I do a lot of natural looking faceups and so I like to play around a bit if I have the chance. At first I wanted to do a light eyeshadow with classic red lip look but Inti wasn't too keen on that so I went more natural with a warm gold/brown/green eyeshadow look and pearlescent peachy gold lips.
I kind of love her lol.
Eyelashes used are from ForMyDoll Eyelash AA in brown but it is customized by adding individual hairs for a lusher more natural look. Until I find lashes that suit the look I want, this is the method I use and it's very time consuming. Formydoll lashes are $2.50 and the extra customization cost $10. (as i said, very time consuming.)

Lothian's new eco website promotes fifteen new hybrid buses from Alexander's in Falkirk. It's all been made possible with a little help from the Scottish Government’s Green Bus Fund, worth a total of £5 million.
lothianbuses.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=ar...
The new Enviro 400's (the first by Edinburgh's principal bus operator) are cleaner, quieter and smoother than other buses. Hybrid buses are more efficient than ordinary buses because their engines run only to generate electricity which drives the wheels.
Lothian's new Hybrids are painted not in the usual red and white 'classic' livery but in Radiance Red over Winter Gold i.e. the standard weinrot und weis colours are changed for a pearlescent paint version.
Note the alloy wheels on hybrids 213 (SN61 BCE) and 206 (SN61 BBJ), both resting at Newhaven's terminus at Western Harbour. The deluxe development to the rear is the luxurious world of Platinum Point which is part of the great Newhaven regeneration of the early 21st Century. With spectacular views over the Firth of Forth and to Fife the prices are equally spectacular! Whether all this will still be here in 20 years as gradually the sea reclaims the land (owing to increased temperatures) is anyone's guess!
My LE Wedding Cinderella Doll has been fully deboxed. She is posed standing, supported by the included display stand. With her floor length multi-layered skirt she should be able to free stand, but I didn't haven't tried to stand her that way. She is photographed from all angles.
On my second attempt to get the Limited Edition Wedding Cinderella 17'' Doll from eBay, I finally got her!

The sphere inside is the world with the details of the continents carved in relief. A light pearlescent acrylic wash is applied over the raised surfaces.
A traditional bamboo fish trap commonly used in Asia was the inspiration for this piece.
The photo was printed on pearlescent paper and I haven't found a way to get rid of the reflections in the scan.
Janet's theme for today's scramble is to use solid & outline stamps. Gave me the chance to dig out my very old (2001) HA shadow block stamp. I brayered on Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves, spritzed & stamped on wc paper. My HA leaves turned out not to be really outline, so I used another very old stamp I still love by Design in Squares. It's stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate & embossed with JudiKins Egyptian Gold. The sentiment is PTI (Take 3 Fall) & this is the first time I've used that set. The splatters are my favorite Distress Stain Tarnished Brass. Lightly distressed the panel edges & decided against any embellishments. Thanks, Janet, for the great scramble!
Every o-ring is made seperately by hands and has original shape. The jewellery made of o-ring is mostly minimalist, based on soft, semi-transparent, little pearlescent color combinations and o-rings composition. Some pieces can be more intricated, when o-ring are nested in another one, or has textures or be backfilled.
O-rings jewellery represents clear and modern design.
Barbie® Mermaid Enchantress™ doll, the second doll to debut in the Mythical Muse™ fantasy series, features a sea-inspired look with enchanted details. Fish-scale sequins in soft coral and sea-foam hues cover Barbie® doll’s mermaid tail, creating a shimmering effect from every angle. Accessories inspired by ocean treasures include a coral accented headpiece, peplum and earrings. Barbie® doll’s flowing, pearlescent hair is kissed with pastel pink and blue highlights and features a delicate braided detail.
Sapphire and Gold comparisons.
Having now had a chance to try out the 'premium' offerings from two of the UKs big bus groups, I thought I'd post a few shots comparing the vehicles used.
Stagecoach Southwests Gold service began in September 2013, initially competing with First Devon and Cornwalls X80/X81 services between Torquay and Plymouth/Dartmouth. The initial Gold fleet was recently supplimented by a further 3 buses, purchased for the increased Summer frequency on the Plymouth service. One of the extra three, 15961, is seen in Totnes having just worked in from Dartmouth. The Dartmouth service operates only between there and Totnes in the Summer peak, passengers for Torbay having to swap to the Torquay bound Plymouth service here by the Royal Seven Stars Hotel. The Dartmouth bus then running around the housing estates of Totnes before returning here to pick up for the return Dartmouth run.
The vehicles used here are Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 bodied Scania N230UD, with leather seats and the gold and blue colour scheme used inside and out - Just look at the pearlescent blue dashboard and gold seat bases over the rear wheels!
I was so happy to see that we got a film accurate glass sipper. I was really scared it was going to be one of the hooker shoes. It is clear but it has a pearlescent sheen to make it look like reflective crystal.

Background is 140# watercolor paper. I used blue and green Prang watercolors and water to create a droplet effect. Then I stamped over top with Hero Arts AR135 Flourish Branch (an Archiver's Exclusive clear set similar to Hero Arts F5042 Leaf Flourish wood mount) using Tsukineko Brilliance pearlescent Jade ink.
"Some moments are worth holding in your heart forever" sentiment from Hero Arts CL129 Anytime Messages stamped using ClearSnap / ColorBox turquoise pigment ink. Hand cut a scalloped matte from white cardstock. Mounted to a rich, woven-texture teal card base.
Medallion was made using vellum paper edged with Fiskars Sunburst border punch. Scored every 1/4" and sealed the ends together with glue dots. Flattened and attached small paper circles (not seen) to both front and back for stability. (See dimension view.)
Punched a scalloped circle from Bazzill Frosted Teal textured cardstock. Used a Spellbinders Nestabilities Pinked Circle die cut to cut and dry emboss the inner white circle. Stamped over top with same Flourish Branch / Leaf Flourish stamp and ink as on the background.
"Treasure" bubble stick from unknown sheet of stickers. Because it is clear, I chose to "dress it up" by adding pearlescent stamping underneath it - and by surrounding it with other embellishments. (See the closeup view.)
Butterfly from Hero Arts CL383 Antique Engravings. Stamped in black onto glossy paper. Applied Broken China Distress Ink over top using a Tsukineko Sponge Dauber (Hero Arts MI002). The bottom edge of the butterfly is tucked under the Treasure sticker; the upper part of each wing is raised on 1/8" foam squares for dimension.
The letter "A" represents the recipient's first initial. Foil thicker from American Crafts - "Cinnamon" style in Robin's Egg Blue. 14mm gemstone / crystal flower from Dress It Up.
Died twine string to match using Ranger Stream alcohol ink and blending solution in a snack baggie. Tied it into a bow and attached with a glue dot.
Thanks for looking! :-)

Its easy to see why so many car manufacturers, namely French, happily use Norev for their dealership and promotional diecast models. They really are small works of art which although are priced at the upper end of the pocket money market are easily good enough to entice more discerning adult collectors too. Norev 1/64 models are just that little bit more intricate in their execution than Majorette as can be seen by this stunning pearlescent white Peugeot 3008. There are no opening features like the Majorette equivalent but the detailing is rather exquisite right down to its factory accurate alloy wheels. Part of a three vehicle set found in an E.Leclerc recently. Mint and boxed.

In conservatory at home .... today. After spotting this dragon-to-be beginning to change into it's Spring outfit, I ran to tell Andy what was happening!!!! When I finally got back in to view my discovery, it was fully clothed and looking gorgeous in all of its jewelled finery. We've seen plenty of white ones, but this is the first time we've actually caught one in the act - cool eh!?!

BrickLink: Satin Trans-Dark Blue
Introduced in mid 2021 with Harry Potter sets. It's a microglitter effect molded into the plastic that gives a very pearlescent look.
As far as I can tell, the only difference in name between this and the trans-light blue version is a space:
366 Tr.Blue Opal

Taken at the Pavilions Car Show in Scottsdale, Arizona, in July 2021. This visit was the first time back for me since they FINALLY(!!!!) started up the car show again in late May 2021 following the pandemic-caused shutdown of the show.
Shot with a Canon 70D and Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM lens with circular polarizer.
Our latest Barbie Birthday Wishes Doll brings a soft, sweet, and dreamy vibe with a beautiful pink strapless dress. The satin bodice blossoms into a voluminous skirt made of gathered tulle. A sheer overlay cinches at the waist with a white ribbon and then floats down to graze the floor. Her luxurious blonde hair is pulled back with a pearlescent headband, which complements her earrings. The customizable packaging offers you a place to write a personalized message to a beloved Barbie fan, making this special occasion doll a perfect gift.
I stamped Penny Black's 4180J Reverie in Brilliance pearlescent purple twice on the card base. then I stamped 4185F Happiness in black craft ink, heat embossed it in detail clear embossing powder (my favorite EP!), cut the sentiment with an oval nestabilities die, left the die in place and sponged more of the Brilliance purple ink around the sentiment, and then popped the oval up on foam tape. The gorgeous purple vellum flower and leaf are from my friend Carol (thanks again, girlie!). The pearl in the center of the flower was colored with a V15 Copic marker.
