In the beginning, the fig was made for the Lego Group: The Battlefront. Unfortunately two things happened: My life got busier and the group basically died. The year is supposed to be 2045 or something by the way.
The Russian Operator features very light stealth armor, meant mostly for assassins to use. However, a red targeting lens and tactical elbow pads and arm guards are present, which differs from the assassin uniform. A regular Tokarev pistol is brandished on the side, as part of the regulations that ALL russian service men and women carry at least one sidearm. The Operator sports a snow storm camoflage, first used and adapted by Vasili Kravchuk during the Koreapanese-Russian war in 2018. a heating system in installed behind the vest, along with recycling batteries to recharge the system. The rifle is a modified version of the standard assault rifle, having a scope and silencer attachment.
This fig took about 5 hours of work, mostly because I kept on changing parts. The faceplate is entirely sculpted, and the red targeting system is a piece of action figure sunglasses with a piece of needle at the tip to allow fro removal and movement. The vest (and the whole figure in fact) was inspired by Richard. The vest is a cut-up credit card with bits and pieces glued on. The mag pouches, the leg side pouch, the belt pouch, and the knee and elbow pads are sculpted. Th rifle is an interesting Sci-Fi gun that I picked up at Brickfair, with a Si-Dan silencer and a tiny tactical scope. A russian patch is on the left arm, while 3 armor piercing rounds are on the right. Lastly, the fig holsters a BrickArms Tokarev .
This is one of the figures I promised I would upload.

We were taken up into the CSXT Control Tower in Groups to prevent overcrowding and to prevent any interruption of the Tower Operator Duties.
In November 2005, I took an AMTRAK Train from Tampa Union Station in Florida to Hamlet, North, Carolina to attend a Summer Convention of the ACL/SAL Historical Society in and around the Hamlet Area Hamlet Metro Area, One of the sites we visited was CSX Hump Classification Yard Hamlet.
Tower Mailing Address: 127 CSX Drive, Marks Creek, NC 28345
This Yard is relies on Gravity, a Ladder of Switches and Speed Retarders to assemble trains destined for all parts of the US and Canada on an assortment of tracks, one track for each destination. or Intermediate Yard.In addition to the Posters & Signs, a no longer used caboose, now serves as a place for Safety Classes and Safety Signs.
This particular photograph shows the Tower Operator working the CSXT Hump Yard in Hamlet (aka: Marks Creek Township) North Carolina.
Seen here is Stagecoach North Scotland's Aberdeen based Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini 16953 (MX07BVD) exiting Hillhead Of Seaton Halls Of Residence while operating a Aberdeen University contracted service 9U to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
16953 was new to First Manchesters in July 2007 as their 37308, she was acquired by Stagecoach through the sale of Wigan depot in 2012 and swiftly moved to Fife. During the First strikes in March of 2018 Stagecoach's Aberdeen depot took on 21 buses to run additional services, Of these 10 have recently gained Bluebird legals and now permanently moved to the fleet. These consist of 16925, 16929, 16951, 16952, 16953, 16954, 16958, 18111, 22533 and 22861. Stagecoach here recently lost 2 buses to fires and an additional 2 deckers were sent to Orkney all without replacements, on top of this there is a need for additional capacity on routes such as the X17 which have had their frequency cut and can no longer cope with passenger numbers. All 10 of the buses that have joined the fleet are based at Aberdeen other than the 2 MAN's, 22533 and 22861 which are now working out of Stonehaven for the X6/7/7B.

Arriva appear to be the most regressive of the larger operators at present. Cutbacks to their hourly 153 service between Market Bosworth and Leicester from the end of play on 15 April are fairly typical of the current direction, and will see the settlements of Carlton and Barton in the Beans fall off the scheduled public transport network as the route is simplified. Wearing Arriva’s insipid corporate garb, VDL DB250 FJ06ZSV (4750) is seen leaving said fabulously-named hamlet with the 09:58 from Market Bosworth to Leicester. Wikipedia informs me that ‘in the Beans’ is a reference to broad bean production in the area.

This is what happens when someone pushes the wrong button on an industrial oven to racks of plastic trays full of meat products. Instead of steam cooking the product, the operator selected roasting....at much higher temperature
Got it at last !
This beast has been doing its best to avoid me, and annoying me by appearing on the opposite of the M6 to me in my car, or being blocked in by other vehicles on the move, or indeed by arriving at Belle Vue stock car meetings before any other vehicle, well before I got there. Anyway, I had an idea that it might be out yesterday, as there was a meeting in the afternoon in Birmingham, so I decided to do a stake-out, and it appeared after about 20 minutes, well before I was expecting it !
This stunning-looking vehicle is barely recognisable now as a Volvo B10M / Plaxton 4000 RS twin-deck, although there can't be a lot left on it that is original. New to Flights of Birmingham as F707 COA, it had a succession of operators up to 2008, at which point it vanished off the scene, so the project to convert it may have started as long ago as that. It is now with Salford-based F1 driver Ben Riley, so will probably become a commonplace sight after a while, but it was still good to get it now.
A possible standard for the Ravage? Just made some combos and I thought they turned out rather nicely!

It's been upgraded a little and was also cleaned up, with edgy marks and misplaced paint. To be honest, I think the paint will pull it to amazing-ness. Let's hope.
Some postapocalyptic guy. Done with Zbrush. Nothing extra- just playing around.

Happy holidays flickr world!
There was a good snowfall in the Ottawa Valley last evening, covering everything in a deep white blanket. The plow operators worked hard through the night, allowing my wife and I to head out first thing in the morning to explore the fields east of our city. One thing the plows do is clear the snow down to the ground on rural road edges, creating a grassy strip that attracts Snow Buntings, Horned Larks and occasionally Lapland Longspurs. The birds feed on the weed seeds exposed by the blade, and pick up bits of grit to aid in digestion.
Typically the flocks are wary, not of vehicles, but of anyone on foot. I have attempted to walk up to the birds, only to have them repeatedly bump down the road 100 metres or so until I give up in frustration. Today, a group of longspurs we encountered seemed a little less flighty so I decided to try again - with a new plan. As my wife slowly drove our truck towards the birds I trudged along behind, like a foot soldier following a tank. When we had closed to within ten metres she stopped and I crept up beside the vehicle and dropped down into the snow. Success! Or a reasonable approximation thereof.
It was close to noon when we encountered the birds and the sun was at its height, blasting brightly and heating the roadside just enough to create atmospheric distortion. So the image quality isn't perfect, but I am still happy with the photo.
