Operators from Special Forces Unit SOKIL (Zaporozhye) during CQB training

After receiving their gear, the new operators wasted no time heading to the range to put their weapons and equipment to the test. The range had been set up by the more experienced operators, who were also on hand to assist the newcomers. This initial session was not just about familiarization but also about ensuring that every piece of gear met their high standards of performance and reliability. From testing the precision of their firearms to assessing the functionality of their tactical tools, the operators ensured that they were mission-ready.

For a Tier One operator, training isn’t just a requirement—it’s a way of life. The ability to execute missions with precision and adaptability comes from relentless practice and preparation. Consistent training, especially marksmanship, is the foundation of their effectiveness on the battlefield.

A real mystery found on a couple of photos from approximately 1989.

Apologies for the poor quality, these are scans of original prints from a 1960's Kodak Instamatic camera.

These show a dual door single deck bus of an unknown operator in Chichester in about 1989. The front panel has a Leyland like badge and the registration number looks a bit like GES 180G or something similar.

Unless it is a trick of the light, the pictures must have been taken on two different days as he area around the front destination box is cream in one picture approaching the cathedral in West Street and brown in the other coming up South Street.

If anyone is able to shed any light on this mystery vehicle I would appreciate it!

NEWPORT, RI – The U.S. Naval War College holds at graduation ceremony for students from the International Maritime Staff Operators Course (IMSOC) held at the Naval War College Museum onboard Naval Station Newport, June 2, 2023. IMSOC was jointly designed by the U.S. Naval War College (NWC) International Programs department and the College of Maritime Operational Warfare to teach international students the fundamental concepts and processes necessary to support a multinational maritime component commander at the operational level of warfare. Established in 1884, NWC informs today’s decision-makers and educates tomorrow’s leaders by providing educational experiences and learning opportunities that develop their ability to anticipate and prepare strategically for the future, strengthen the foundations of peace, and create a decisive warfighting advantage. I have no idea who was operating King Long XMQ6900 MR63 TFS, seen on an Epsom Explore day trip on the M25 in Kent, 14th June, 2025. It may have been with an operator known as Travel for Success, Crayford, who had their licence revoked the following month - that's success for you. Later in the year, it was known to be operating for Transport for Schools, Thamesmead. The coach had been new to Littles, Ilkeston, as BX14 KOH.

This little hut at the top of the incline was presumably for the operator. I didn't find any evidence of how the incline was powered. Maybe one of the electric winches originally powered it?
