If this wasn't a few days before Bastille Day, our tour operator would have stopped our coach outside the Eiffel Tower for a photo stop.
But as they were preparing for the 14th of July (2009) we couldn't stop. At least we drove past it.
I believe that this was on Place Jacques Rueff.
Was very cloudy that day unfortunately.
An iron tower built on the Champ de Mars near the River Seine.
It was designed by Gustave Eiffel, and was completed in 1889 (100 years after the French Revolution).
It was originally built for the Exposition Universelle, a World Fair marking the centenary of the Revolution.
In the 20th century it was used to transmit radio signals.
First shot came out a bit too blurry.
An iron tower built in 1889 by French architect Gustave Eiffel as the main attraction of the universal exposition, which marked the centennial of the French Revolution. It was supposed to be torn down after a few years but it was saved by it's popularity and after it was useful as a communications tower. Now it is an iconic symbol of France. It is 324 metres high, featuring three floors. To ascend the tower, you must take the lift (Up to the first and second floors. to get to the summit, you must take a separate lift on the second floor.) or the stairs (up to the first and second floors only.)

Keeler, a former U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District employee, served as a lock operator at Hales Bar from 1960 until the lock ended operations in 1968. He then worked at Nickajack Navigation Lock just six miles downstream until his retirement in 1983. Hales Bar Dam opened in 1913 and the project was the first to provide hydropower in the world. One hundred years later the region looks back and remembers life at Hales Bar Dam and Navigation Lock. (USACE Photo by Leon Roberts)

This 2008 Scania R420 was seen parked in a yard in Strutherhill Industrial Estate, Larkhall. This vehicle along with two other lorries only appeared recently in Strutherhill, situated in a compound by the roadside which was put together a year or so ago. This Scania's V5C logbook issue date of November 2023 fits into that timeframe, but interestingly it's marked as SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) so isn't currently in use on the roads.

Reading Buses has just placed a batch of six Alexander-Dennis Enviro400 Hybrid buses into service on route 26. At the same time the route has been rebranded, and now uses this eye-catching (even by Reading Buses' standards!) yellow and orange livery, in place of the rather insipid light pink previously worn. 206, the last of the batch, is seen at the terminus at Reading Station on its first day in passenger service, Monday 13th December 2010.
