I had a dream about this...
I blame James Bond's "you only live twice" where a woman is thrown into a big pool of piranha's.
Not long after I had seen that movie as a kid, we went to a zoo and they had piranha's there too...
And can still remember the fear I had for them!
So I had this dream where I found a big aquarium in our house and I wanted to feed the fishies...
the basterds ate the meat of my finger and all I was left with were the bones!

The trail suddenly ends at a ten foot drop, probably caused by the last flash flood to pass through Little Death Hollow Canyon.
I entered a 20 days challenge in Facebook! So this is the first day picture! The theme was "Toy" ^_^
The clerk at Wal-Mart looked at me funny as I checked out with nail polish and a mirror. She said "aren't you the guy who usually buys all those Tic Tacs and Dots?" I told her I was but that I was going in a different direction with today's photo. Toni wouldn't let me use her nail polish so I had to buy my own. My daughter liked the colors so much I gave them to her after the photo shoot. Besides, these colors don't look good on me.
A couple of canoeist's flipped their canoe into the Cowichan River near Duncan BC. They were part of a group of canoeists taking lessons on upstream paddling from the instructor in the red canoe. The group are from the Victoria Canoe & Kayak Club. Victoria is south of Duncan about an hour away. Lesson learned, I hope.
I took a ton of daisy shots when i went away on the weekend so be prepared

Well this isn't late at all. School started and I've been swamped from the beginning. I'm looking forward to this year.
Honors IB Photo kicks ass. I have so much creative freedom and ideas are starting to flow! I just did my first fashion studio shoot for class and once I develop the film I'll post the results here. Be on the look out!

Will take note for pruning this winter.
Lass O' Gowrie (Scotland) aka Sovereign (Ireland)
A dual purpose apple that keeps it's shape when cooked. Scottish origin dating to 1883, later became popular in County Armagh under the name Sovereign and so is now considered to be a heritage Irish apple too.

I planted this as a 2 year old tree on MM106 rootstock in February 2023. It is doing pretty well in its 4th summer in Tullynacree.

Fuji Pro 800Z (expired 2008, shot at 400)
Shot some expired Fuji Pro 800z in 220 format and apparently there was no backing paper (or very thin paper) so that every time I opened the window on my Kiev 88 film back to see how many photos I had left it exposed a bright circle in the frame. At first I was disappointed but now I have come to really like some of them! Funny how that happens. Take care, everyone!
I fully expect to get thrown out of the pool with this one! After photographing a Wedgwood pomander given to me by my mum, I was wracking my brains to think of the type of glaze this sort of pottery (Jasperware) uses...only to eventually remember that it is biscuitware i.e. NOT glazed.
Instead the pigment is mixed with the clay or the item dipped before firing.
This is an especially embarrassing mistake as my home town is Stoke-on-Trent, or the Potteries, birthplace of Josiah Wedgwood himself...
Still as we're on a road trip home today (to do penance?!) there is no time to reshoot and it seems a pity to waste the shot...!
Originally shot for DPChallenge's April Fool's Rubber Ducky challenge. As a joke, it was the most specific challenge yet:
Details: April showers bring rubber duckies! Your challenge is to photograph one rubber ducky on a blue background. You must use at least 3 light sources. You must have water and exactly 5 green grapes in the photograph. You must use an aperture between f/6 and f/10 (for typical point and shoot cameras, this setting can be achieved using your landscape mode). Be creative and have fun!
Rules: Failure to meet the challenge should result in DQ.
My final score was 6.041, in 22nd place out of 110.
