The clerk at Wal-Mart looked at me funny as I checked out with nail polish and a mirror. She said "aren't you the guy who usually buys all those Tic Tacs and Dots?" I told her I was but that I was going in a different direction with today's photo. Toni wouldn't let me use her nail polish so I had to buy my own. My daughter liked the colors so much I gave them to her after the photo shoot. Besides, these colors don't look good on me.

The Tsar Bell,

also known as the Tsarsky Kolokol, Tsar Kolokol III, or Royal Bell, is a huge bell on display on the grounds of the Moscow Kremlin.

The bell was commissioned by Empress Anna, niece of Peter the Great

The bell is currently the largest bell in the world, weighing 201 tons, with a height of 6.14 m (20.1 ft) and diameter of 6.6 m (21.6 ft).

It was founded from bronze by masters Ivan Motorin and his son Mikhail in 1733–1735. Ornaments, portraits, and inscriptions were made by V. Kobelev, P. Galkin, P. Kokhtev, P. Serebryakov and P. Lukovnikov.

The bell was never rung — during a fire in 1737, a huge slab (11.5 tons) cracked off while it was still in the casting pit.

After the fire, the bell remained in its casting for a century.

In 1836, the Tsar Bell was placed on a stone pedestal next to the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in the Moscow Kremlin.

The broken slab is nearly three times larger than the world's largest bell hung for full circle ringing, the tenor bell at Liverpool Cathedral.

Pumpkin was nursing and flipped onto the ground! He wasn’t happy! Mei actually pushed him further away! “Mama, Mama pick me up”. XT: “ No precious, you can do this. I believe in you!” XT4: “ Mama I DID IT!” 💜🐼

One made it, one didn't.

Well, half is better then none.

It was a bit slippery with all the falling snow today.

Originally shot for DPChallenge's April Fool's Rubber Ducky challenge. As a joke, it was the most specific challenge yet:

Details: April showers bring rubber duckies! Your challenge is to photograph one rubber ducky on a blue background. You must use at least 3 light sources. You must have water and exactly 5 green grapes in the photograph. You must use an aperture between f/6 and f/10 (for typical point and shoot cameras, this setting can be achieved using your landscape mode). Be creative and have fun!

Rules: Failure to meet the challenge should result in DQ.

My final score was 6.041, in 22nd place out of 110.

I took a ton of daisy shots when i went away on the weekend so be prepared

for daisy mania. :) xoxoxox

Last week I visited a friend who lives close to Safety Beach and we went for a walk down the bay trail beside Anthony's Nose and the McCrae Lighthouse.

This is where, a week or so ago, one of the multi-million dollar homes slid down the cliffside into a couple of others. A big headache for all involved, a council worker inspecting the property at the time of the collapse was injured but lucky to be alive. The recriminations and clean up are to come. The main road beside the beach is now blocked and those who are nearby but not affected are enjoying the quietness and lack of traffic. But they too must be worried that their houses may also have some risk of slips too!

At last a better to day to try out the 500mm F4 lens before I sign on the dotted line and give my bank balance heart failure. Just down at the loch at work were Black-headed Gulls getting all fruity, a Coot on a mission then falling through the ice and a Blue Tit prospecting for a nest

Forgot the nail varnish last night, thankfully my own nails look quite nice. But nobody's looking at my nails, right?
