This Robin landed and I zoomed in too quickly but the picture turned out OK.

I almost forgot to post this one. This funky SW is stationed at the ADM loadout loop south of Tulare, recorded during my chase of the BNSF 1462. September 10, 2023.

Sometimes my bloopers crack me up. This one begs for a caption!

The last of my cup of coffee spilled onto the floor. I was about to clean it up and thought, "wait! I should take a picture of it first."

a forgotten image of Indy´s week

I posted a similar shot and realized that it wasn't the one I took today for my 365. I was lucky and hadn't deleted today's images... whew.

This fish is trying to escape its destiny. I wouldn't put any money on it, though :)

PS: the life of a jack mackerel is very hazardous in these parts. Sei whales, dolphins, tuna and seabirds all love them, and we do too. If you come here, ask for chicharros fritos in a restaurant. You can eat everything, head included. In France, the closest dish is perhaps the friture du port.

Not the sharpest photo but definitely too cute not to post!

I'm an idiot. I'll have to re-shoot this one when the sun comes out again.

I have been traveling in the desert of Northern Africa for the past weeks with no internet access, so I found out about this rather late: my charging lion picture was commended in the 2010 Travel Photographer of the Year Awards.

As with most wildlife shots, there was quite a bit of luck involved to get this shot - after all, with wild animals you never know what's going to happen. Most wildlife photographers use long tele lenses to photograph potentially dangerous animals, and that is probably a wise thing to do. However, wide angle shots are often more dynamic, more in your face, so that's what I wanted to try in South Africa with lions. I used a radio controlled remote and shot from a handheld monopod, turned upside down, without getting out of the car. It's my secret (well, not anymore) technique to get low level perspective shots with wide angle lenses, while remaining flexible and without running the risk of getting eaten. This male lion did not appreciate the clicks coming from the grass very much, and decided to charge the D3. I guess he was more the Canon type.

Exploring on the new CRF 250 Rally I stumbled upon this fresh little ship wreck.

I think a cat must have been inadvertently trapped in my polytunnel and decided to make an emergency exit. Annoying but not that big a deal in the overall scheme of things.

it was probably me that closed a cat in.
