The best plans sometimes go wrong. What started off as a lemon risotto almost ended up as lemon and finger risotto. Parmesan, a large knife and a unsuspecting finger. Oops. Lucky I'd finished with the lemons, and wasn't cuting chilli.

#90. Jules, Tate and their cousins decorated Easter eggs with their Grammy (my mom) today. I dropped one on it's way to the fridge.
The moment when you finish the celtic knotwork for a tattoo design you've been working on for an hour or more and you realize you drew the ass-end of a rottweiler.
Sigh.
Back to the drawing board.
Common hazard of an ultra-wide (in this case 8mm) lens: if you're not careful, you end up with your feet in the picture!
Monster west swells have hit the Big Island as they always do in January. So this float that should normally reside 300 yards offshore now looks like the newest beach bar of Kona. Oops!
he felt because it was very wet on the ground and he slipped, but no problem... he stood up in a second:)
Life.
It's exhausting.
One minute you're out of the bath, the next you're snoring.
Snoring through drying.
Snoring through being dressed in your pjs.
Snoring through transfer to your own bed.
Life.
It's exhausting.
Day 299
Oops! I thought this was my 300th day but it turns out I messed up numbering somewhere in the last week, and it was my 299th day.
So....In the last 299 days of self-portraits, I have begun to do a few things that I hadn't done before, such as:
Participating in Half-Nekkid Thursdays,
Learning how to play with texture,
Learning a bit more about my lighting equipment,
Playing with my hair,
Learning how to clone,
and posing with knee socks!
But I still love to do the things I have always loved as well, such as:
Jumping shots,
Cropping my head off (seems to be something I do a lot),
Letting my daughter Jaymi in my portraits,
Reflection shots,
and posing with my feet in the air.
Caught with his hand in the cookie jar!
No, Phil, I'm really not a fibber -- this is the first Raccoon I have EVER seen in this area. Wouldn't you know that the night after I make my comment about your Coon:

that I've never seen one even as road kill around here, one would show up at my feeders.
Granted it was 3:30am and I'm not usually up THAT early. The "Big Guy" (Bear) had already woke me and dogs up at 1:30am and then I couldn't go back to sleep and was messing around on my computer. Dogs start making a ruckus again, so I grab the metal pot and spoon (to chase bear off -- I don't even think of taking any more pictures of him) and peered out the window. I see 2 eyes that are way too close together to be the damn Bear. Sure enough it IS a Raccoon. I just couldn't believe it!!! Now I have to tell the truth, I am MUCH more wary of Coons that might be rabid than I am about the bear. Still, there's NO way, I'm not getting some photographs of this guy!! The flash on my Nikon is like a spotlight, and I was very pleased with some of the following shots, taken in pitch dark -- and no, NOT through the window. I was standing outside on my front door stoop. I made up a little story, since I have been up half the night, already had a whole pot of coffee, and had nothing better to do but play: (Coon talk is in Capital Letters -- my answers, normal type -- thought you might like to know that)

I'm such a turd. I steal Will's eyes for BJD faceup photos because they're my favorite. Somehow, I scraped the bottom part of her faceup, so she got a mini makeover yesterday to repair it. I darkened her liner (since I'm positive she's a girl now, lol) and added more top lashes. I don't know why I don't play with her more often, it's not like F16 is my grail or anything >_>.
This is the point at which even the dumbass knows it’s time to stop shooting. Poor baby bison has had his feeding rudely interrupted. Mama’s pissed and Daddy’s charging up the hill behind her to defend his family.
Things I learned as a result of this encounter:
- bison like their privacy.
- they are incredibly fast.
- a longer lens would be a very good thing.
- baby bison are ridiculously cute with their tiny ears and button horns and itty bitty beards!
