I almost forgot to post this one. This funky SW is stationed at the ADM loadout loop south of Tulare, recorded during my chase of the BNSF 1462. September 10, 2023.
Oops, they didn't appreciate me bumping into their car, but tbf, they didn't signal either...plus they fired first
It's time for us women to reach into our closets and take out our prettiest and most colorful summer dresses, time to wear them and be wonderful, time to bring an explosion of color and femininity into the drab world of men in their drab clothes, living their drab lives. It's so wonderful to be a woman.
On my recent sojourn east from Alaska to attend Summerail in Ohio I met up with my buddy John in his hometown of Marshall, IL. He and I had talked about the myriad of possibilities of various railroads to photograph but one high on each of our lists was the Keokuk Junction. Whose list who not have this road on it. With an A-B-A of F-units as possible road power it draws fans far and wide. So with little intel we made the three hour drive west to Peoria on the off chance they might be running and running with the F's. Upon arriving in Kolbe we were rewarded with the A-B-A Fs and about 28 cars that appeared ready to head west. A crew member confirmed a few minutes later that they would indeed would head west about 1030. He also indicated they had some switching en route which was helpful as they were headed away from the sun initially. While the day started somewhat overcast the sun would come out for much of the trip to LaHarpe where we ended our run as did the Fs. It was a great day filled with many classics shots of the Fs.
