Dog Watcher

Nikon z9, 560mm, 1/3200s, f/8, ISO 80”

Every year this boat with this dog are out at the Eagle Show the days I’m out. I wonder if Nikki would sit so serenely amidst all the action?

Jump!

Nikon z9, 50mm (24-70mm f/2.8G), 1/200s, f/2.8, ISO 400

After those close calls with waves, Rylee took Carmyn under her wing and gave her lessons on jumping waves a little closer to shore. Gotta love seaside lessons and jumping play!

Nighttime Wave Show

Nikon z9, 70mm, (NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S), 1/40s, f/2.8, ISO 1,000

After a very dreary, very wet day, some light started popping close to sunset, so off we went in search of some waves. I have a circle I usually travel around Qualicum to French Creek, and unfortunately started in Qualicum today and by the time I got to French Creek, where the waves were, it was nearly dark. No tripod set up in this wind, but not to worry, just up the ISO, lower the f-stop and hope for the best. I used highlight metering with this shot to emphasize what light was coming into the scene from buildings and street lights. As always, just standing outside during the sheer power of a wind storm is exhilarating.

Awesome memories for a lifetime."

Brilliance of Night

Nikon z9, 24mm (24-70mm f/2.8G), 15 sec, f/2.8, ISO 1250

I stepped outside last night about 11 and the sky was brilliantly clear with Jupiter and her moons shining a bright gold. It was stunning. By the time I had my camera set up, clouds moved in, but I was happy to get even a short glimpse of that stunningly beautiful night sky!
