Back to some macro shots taken the other day. Kudos to this resilient little rose for blooming so late in this season and evading the ever present deer dining on my front flowers every night!

One of my favourite parts of visiting Butchart Gardens is remembering the incredible story of how these gardens came into creation. Mr Butchart ran a rock quarry and his wife wanted more beauty around her, thus the idea of the gardens came about. Check out the story on Wikipedia and definitely visit the gardens when you can any time of year!

Still revisiting grizzly shots today. There’s just something so tranquil about this shot of dining on the river - oh and that giant ridge in this grizzly bearMs back is pretty impressive, too!

"My last day of my summer camping trip to Qualicum Beach. We had a few hours before we had to catch the ferry back to the mainland. I wanted to enjoy the Island life as long as I could. We were sitting on a bench, facing the water, eating fish and chips. We were lucky to be able to have a show to watch during our supper. The stand up paddle boarders looked like they were having fun." - Vicky Robinson, 2014 myPQB Story Contest
