Ullswater from the Place fell!
Taken in Washington Park, Albany, NY, on a wildly foggy December day...when the fog stayed thick on the ground for hours and the birds called and gathered in the trees in such volumes that it felt the slightest bit eerie. The lack of snow and the heavy fog made me think it was warmer than it was. When I realized my hands were stiff and numb I retreated to my car and saw with great surprise it was only 32 degrees.
Played with off camera flash last evening and then played with filters and textures...a dark moody but colourful take on the tulips that once again fell into my grocery cart last week...amazing how carts have tulip magnets installed on them :)
I received my converted Canon EOS400D at the end of last week, it is now glued to my side and used at every available opportunity!!!

Still playing with my ND filter and loving it. This combination with the Olympus OMD-E-M1 is superb.
My week in the Dolomites involved a great deal of low clouds. I know, that sounds terrible, but it did give me the opportunity to get a few moody shots and even a few when we climbed above the clouds. The Dolomites are beautiful but seem removed from the rest of Italy. A world apart. 20230919TheFogLifts
The combination of early morning light, mist, hills and trees create interesting fan-shaped triangles and a moody atmosphere.
