“What makes the Dead Sea dead? Because it is all the time receiving but never giving out. Why is it that many Christians are cold? Because they are all the time receiving but never giving out.”

Ruth Moody and her "man-boys"played an awesome set in Warwick. If you get a chance to go see her, do it! Tingewick's not too far - I might go again! :)

This pretty much sums up the weather and skies around AZ this past week. I'm not complaining, for it's cooled off here in the most wonderful way and I've been able to sleep to the rain at night.
I took this as I was finishing my commute home yesterday. I pulled off to get what was left of my day and before I set out for the gym. I wish I had more time to get out and shoot. This was all that I got. It seems that every day that I drive towards the Estrellas, there are the most amazing clouds lingering over them. Yesterday was no exception.

Moody Plaza was created during the most recent renovations to Lane Stadium and is named for John Moody (class of 1956). The plaze is a perfect place for photos with the Hokie Stones and the VT Logo.

Some photos from a place you might already recognize, as there're many photos of it here. This time I tried to make something different out of the familiar views. After all, this is a landscape that probably is not scenic this time of the year. At least not for me, not in the usual sense. But of course there's a certain mood -- which might be something that comes out of myself, but I'm sure not without some stimulus, outside, it is really there, somehow. Can it be pictured? Can it be conveyed? How can you depict the actual first impression?
On a technical note: All done with old 50mm f/1.7 lens, all wide open, I used a Kenko nostaltone blue for diffusion and color shift. „Enhanced" in LR & PS.
this is probably my favorite photo from a daytrip i took to Moody Gardens in Galveston with my mother.
i've always had an affinity for color photos that look black & white, so i was soooo stoked when i walked in, looked up and say this setup. the only dead giveaway is the blue neon light, but i dont mind it too much. it almost makes the fisheye look straight.
100% viewfinder also helped alot!
