The combination of early morning light, mist, hills and trees create interesting fan-shaped triangles and a moody atmosphere.
A heavily process shot today of a failed sunrise over the weekend. What looked like a promising start to sunrise, soon became very dull and boring. Nevertheless, I still made an image that is possibly over processed but one I quite like for various reasons :)
I'm not a fan of cold, rainy weather, I'd much rather be in shorts and a t-shirt. But it does make for some good, moody clouds. Shot this with my iPhone 12 Pro.
Got up for the toilet early this morning, so did what I always do and checked what weather was like (just in case) and it looked good so got ready and headed down to St Mary's Lighthouse, started bloody raining on the way, typical, but a good 45 minute sit in car and it stopped long enough to get a few shots, this being the first one, with it being so grey and dull went for a bit of a moody feel.
In 1915 a lighthouse was built in the lake as a memorial to Captain Robert Scott's tragic Antarctic expedition. The lighthouse has become one of the most beloved, iconic buildings in Cardiff. Within the striking white lighthouse is a scale model of Scott's ship, the Terra Nova.
Wait a moment, I live over there. From a distance and across the water, I could see the rain coming down. It looked rather ominous, and lacked much color, so I figured continuing with B&W would serve the situation best. And, considering the deluge, it was quite unpleasant weather, which only contributed to the gloomy atmosphere.
It was a very high contrast landscape, which also expressed the temperament of the weather conditions. The irony is that this is part of the "Sunshine Coast".
Please comment, does the photo tell a story?
50-80mm of rain may have dumped on/in my tent last night, but the moody morning views are worth it! lol
Taken near Karsdale, in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Canada.
Maroon Bells

Colorado
We were fortunate to see Maroon Bells with both autumn foliage and new snow this September, when the early morning precipitation cleared before midday.
Happy Wednesday! Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your support -- I greatly appreciate it.
