A moody early evening visit to St Marys :)

Played with off camera flash last evening and then played with filters and textures...a dark moody but colourful take on the tulips that once again fell into my grocery cart last week...amazing how carts have tulip magnets installed on them :)

I know I took this photo in January but there really are spring flowers coming up! Also still a bit dark outside.

Used a lumecube panel pro on the side, because it was really dark under the tree 🌲

Lovely walk on Sunday. Not really a photographic day. However was able to shoot off a few frames.

Moody sunrise from Killcare Beach on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia.

I'm not a fan of cold, rainy weather, I'd much rather be in shorts and a t-shirt. But it does make for some good, moody clouds. Shot this with my iPhone 12 Pro.

Bunch of little flowers with a vintage edition...

Tunkwa Park contains two large, man-made trout fishing lakes, Tunkwa and Leighton. There are campgrounds on both lakes. Tunkwa is listed in the top 10 provincial rainbow trout fisheries.

This park protects mid elevation grasslands, forests, lakes, and wetlands including bogs and ponds. This is a year-round recreation area noted for camping, hunting, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.

Moose, mule deer, white-tailed deer and birds such as the Canada goose, mallard, common snipe, vesper sparrow and mountain bluebird all make their home here.

Ok it’s Wednesday and the once a day rule has been lifted so I headed out to coast, the local coast I will add as I still have some issues with the relaxation. I fear for the countries beauty spots as I can see them getting swamped and the fragile local services in those areas will suffer, the message should have included be respectful to other. Anyway I was up at 4:00am and quick 10 minute drive had me by the sea and what a moody morning it was. Don't worry I was back home before 6am to walk the dogs. Not had a chance to look at many of my photos but here is a starter, nice to post something fresh.

Overcast sunrise from the old Sea Pool at Terrigal Beach on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia.

A Sunday rainstorm left a moody morning in its wake, complete with a shroud of mist that seeped through the trees and settled on the surfaces. Even the cheery colors of our garden shed were not enough to brighten the morning. Yet my mood was not to be trampled upon by something as trivial as low visibility. There is always more to be seen than what meets the eye, and the eye is not our only sense for absorbing the world around us.

Today we say goodbye to January. Where the heck did it go?

Happy Fence Friday everyone.

Taking the long view

The Snow Roads (www.visitcairngorms.com/inspire-me/snowroads/ ) Scenic Route is a 144-km (90-mile) journey which takes you from the picturesque market town of Blairgowrie to the traditional Highland town of Grantown-on-Spey. The route traverses the highest public road in Britain taking you through some of the most outstanding landscapes in the eastern Cairngorms. The road links the communities of Braemar, Ballater and Tomintoul with a range of natural and cultural attractions. Three stunning Scenic Route Installations provide new opportunities to stop and explore this wild and beautiful highland countryside. A Cairngorms photo-post is also located at each installation to allow you to capture changes in the landscape. With such a range of activities for families, explorers and sightseers alike, take your time to relax with an overnight stay or two in your choice of accommodation along the way and stop at one of the many cafes and restaurants to sample some highland hospitality. Travel the scenic way on the Snow Roads North or South with the opportunity to link to many other areas in Scotland including Royal Deeside, the Malt Whisky Trail or the North Coast 500. The Snow Roads are slow roads. Take your time to enjoy the views, villages and attractions along the route. You will experience steep hills, ‘blind’ summits, tight bends and single-track roads in part so be sure to drive with care and courtesy. On narrow sections, please be aware of other drivers and use passing places to allow others to go by safely and continue on their journey. www.visitcairngorms.com/plan-your-visit/about-the-cairngo... There's no hello from the other side. The other side is hiding.

Very changeable light and weather at Cregennan Lakes.

This is another of several images I have from a very chilly and moody morning at Antelope Lake in Plumas County, California, USA. The annual “Junuary” cold front we always seem to get after Memorial Day was on its way out but the clouds were still battling with the sun the for dominance. The warming lake surface meeting the cold air made conditions foggy, adding more to the mood. As this scene was fairly “monochromatic” already, I felt a black and white treatment was in order. I added a bit of deliberate blur in post production to enhance the overall dreamy and moody feel I had while observing the scene.

The combination of early morning light, mist, hills and trees create interesting fan-shaped triangles and a moody atmosphere.
