Light was trying to get through the thick cloud layers that were low in the sky. A somber scene over Middle River for this moody sunset.
These November days are very short. This was taken on my walk along Princes Parade . Moody and beautiful

Walking along the beach waiting for the sun to come out from behind the very moody clouds on Espanola Island
The cloudy skies make this Maine scene all the more moody. Captured this with the 9 Stop ND and aperture set at f/22 to get the 30 second exposure. There was a slight sea breeze so the longer exposure smoothed out the reflection.
This perspective was also taken very low to the pool of rain water ponding there in the rocks giving a neat expansive view and reflection.
The water lying on the beach as the tide went out provided a perfect reflection for the moody grey clouds
Another day at Elgol on the Isle of Skye. Im always looking for a unique composition and alternative lighting so chose this moody scene with rocks in the foreground covered in moss and seaweed. I must admit, a very tricky place to photograph as the tide comes in so quickly, I had to wait 4 hours to capture this image.
OLD PHOTO.
A shot looking towards Ennerdale.. it was actually a badly exposed shot on my behalf. I've tried to save it with a bit of Photoshop... it's ended up moody :-)
Here's a moody view of Doxey Pool/mermaid's Pool on top of the Roaches - near to where I live in the Staffordshire Morlands/South Peak District
While today dawn fiery and bright, yesterday's dawning was wreathed in fog, leading to a moody start. One had to shine a light to see through the morning mists and confusion. A bit like me before the morning coffee! For Definitely Dreaming theme 15 of Mood.
Croda dei Toni or Cima Dodici (Zwölferkofel) is a peak of the Sexten Dolomites. Panorama from three vertical frames.
Phone shot. Coming back from a shoreline walk with Darcy by Castle Stalker I took a wrong turn, deliberately. And found myself driving on an empty road winding through beautiful forests heading for some cluster of houses collectively called Invercreran. There were some beautiful homes, but it was the setting that really impressed. Forests. Still lochs. Big mountains. Pure Scotland.
Shot during a wet and windy descent from Beinn a' Chrulaiste. Unfortunately the best lightshow was when it was raining hardest and would have involved pointing the lens straight into the stinging horizontal rain. So I had to wait for brief lulls like this.
