A glimpse of the Galena skyline as seen looking northwest from Depot Park, location of the old Illinois Central Railroad Depot I posted last week. The Galena Historic District encompasses 85 percent of the City of Galena and includes more than 800 properties. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1969, with modifications in 2013.
Galena is the seat of Jo Daviess County in the northwest corner of Illinois. This is the unglaciated area of northwestern Illinois. The rolling hills, history and abundant 19th century architecture draws visitors from throughout the country. The population of Galena at the 2020 census was 3,101.

The Parish Church of Santo Ildefonso was built in the first half of the 18th century, on the site of a former place of worship, namely, a chapel dedicated to a certain Santo Alifon, historically mentioned for the first time in the late 13th century. The chapel was brought down in 1709 due to its poor state, which gave way to the construction of the present Parish Church of Santo Ildefonso. Most of the construction works were completed in 1730, but it was not until 1739 that the edifice was completely set up and inaugurated .Sundry restoration and modification works were carried out in the course of history, such that at present the Parish Church of Santo Ildefonso is a fine example of the Baroque style brightening up the surroundings of Praca da Batalha with its blue and white ceramic tiles which adorn the facade. Other highlights refer to the mid 18th century retable by Nicolau Nasoni, the Italian architect who also contributed to the design of various parts of the Porto Cathedral and of the Clerigos Tower. Also of note are the two fairly decorated bell towers which flank the facade.

Vivid potted Nasturtium flowers on the dock.
Tropaeolum commonly known as nasturtium literally "nose-twister" or "nose-tweaker" or nasturtian, is a genus of roughly 80 species of annual and perennial herbaceous flowering plants. [...].
Plants in this genus have showy, often intensely bright flowers, and rounded, peltate (shield-shaped) leaves with the petiole in the centre. The flowers are bisexual and zygomorphic, with five petals, a superior three-carpelled ovary, and a funnel-shaped nectar spur at the back, formed by modification of one of the five sepals. Wikipedia

70807 runs along the sea wall at Dawlish with the 0717 Moorswater to Aberthaw cement empties. The presence of the working platform for the sea wall modifications is causing some interest locally and is providing a nice backdrop to an otherwise predictable scene.
The Deer Isle Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning Eggemoggin Reach in the state of Maine. The bridge is the only vehicular connection from the Maine mainland to Little Deer Isle, one of the segments that make up the island. The span was completed in March 1939 with a main span of 1,088 feet (332 m). The bridge was designed by Holton Duncan Robinson and David Bernard Steinman. It encountered wind stability problems that were similar to those of the Whitestone Bridge and the original Tacoma Narrows Bridge, which collapsed shortly after it opened. The problems led to modifications which included numerous cable stays connecting cables to the tower and tower to the deck. The span today carries two narrow lanes of State Route 15.
The Deer Isle-Sedgwick Bridge, named for the two townships it connects, was the first bridge built between Deer Isle and the mainland, replacing an inadequate ferry crossing system and effectively opening the island to tourism opportunities. It is notable for the innovation of its designers and contractors in creating a durable, long-span, high-level structure across a navigable arm of the Atlantic at minimal cost. Unprecedented use of prefabricated and previously used materials simplified construction and minimized costs, and much of the outdoor work was completed under poor weather conditions.

Dr. Okabe's project originated in a dare: "How sour can you make a lemon through genetic modification?"
The result was a giant sentient lemon than complained endlessly about everything. Okabe thought it would be funny to send the lemon to the executive office. They were not amused and sent it to the kitchen.
On Friday, there was a suspiciously large container of free lemonade in the cafeteria. Coincidence?
Experiment: FAILED.

On a checkered arch, in a window on the south wall, we are impressed to contemplate this Romanesque tympanum of great beauty. A winged personage with a shield and a lance fights a dragon with the head of a feline and the tail of a knotted reptile; this scene takes us to the confrontation of San Miguel with the dragon.

After being amazed watching them and photographing them, the noise of a plane that passed through the sky frightened them and flew away.
You can see the bottom of the lake another flamingo flying.
It is a wonder to watch them fly.

Here I underexposed 1 stop using manual shutter mode and softened both highlights and shadow using Q menu instead of processing to jpeg and. printed using Adobe Portrait with some burning in to strengthen photo but still stock to better illustrate what can be done with the Fuji menu to improve the look of your final photo.
You can process the image to jpeg where you do not have to make any alterations to the cameras menu at all.

Modification of a photo my sister Grace took. With her permission I'm posting it on my site with some changes. The wooden structure is called the needle and is made of wood and is used as a nautical marker. I did lighten the picture up and brought out the color. Also added the boat because in my opinion this picture needed one even though the scene was fine without it.
I was actually planning on attaching this to an M4, but it turned out to be too short.
Inspired by someone over on the BAF, still trying to find who though.
another 48 hours with a tote of mixed bricks from the storage. another goodweekend gone. be safe everyone stay safe. thx for the love..

Ontario Southland Railway GP9 #102 works the Woodstock Job today. 102 was the last GP9 ever built (Algoma Central 172), and has since had some modifications done after it was sold to OSR. The headlight was moved to the nose, and the bell relocated to the cab, giving it a more traditional Canadian look. Here it is going alongside Beachville Road as it heads into Ingersoll.
