Autumn in Melbourne is always beautiful, with many wonderful deciduous trees full of colour like this Japanese Maple which I caught just on the turn one sunny early Autumn day in May.

Melbourne experienced a wonderful Indian summer this year, and as a result, not only are there still plenty of beautiful blooms about, but the Autumnal colours were brilliant.

Autumn in the Westonbirt Arboretum is always special. The range of colours displayed by famous acer collection in the Westonbirt Arboretum attracts tens of thousands of people every year in October. And it is worth all the efforts. Old Arboretum, Westonbirt, Gloucestershire, England.

“Fall colors are funny. They’re so bright and intense and beautiful. It’s like nature is trying to fill you up with color, to saturate you so you can stockpile it before winter turns everything muted and dreary.”

By mid-November, when most of the other trees in my area had dropped their leaves, this maple was one of the few remaining trees that was still fully laden with autumn beauty.

I love walking along the river in the early morning when the mist is on the water.Always a magical time for me.After a good walk it is nice to sit down with a hot coffee.

We had a light dusting overnight, it's all down hill from here.

I'm not sure what the collective for Cedar waxwings (Bombycilla cedrorum) would be but they frequently travel in large groups. Today's challenge was changing the zoom and DOF to try and get them all in focus. These birds always remind me of the lyric "sharp dressed man." Of course yesterday I commented that we hadn't seen the usual Spring visitors. Yesterday an Oriole appeared as well as these guys and gals.

Autumn Begins...

The first signs of fall, begin with the changing of the leaves, the sudden burst of color that signifies the end of summer. The transition to fall and the onset of winter.

This maple tree was already yellow; losing its leaves to the winds that jostled its branches... The brilliant sun shone through the top its branches setting it ablaze with colour.

Thank you for visiting for marking my photo as a favourite and for the kind comments,
