Wandiligong is a town in north-eastern Victoria in the alpine region around 330 kilometres from Melbourne. Established in the 1850s as part of the Victorian Gold Rush, Wandiligong became a hub for many gold miners, including a large Chinese community. At its peak, the town was home to over two thousand inhabitants and boasted shops, churches, a public library, halls and even an hotel. Much has changed since those heady days of the gold rush, and the picturesque town nestled in a valley and built around the Morses Creek, is now a sleepy little town full of picturesque houses which are often let to visitors to the area. The whole town is registered with the National Trust of Australia for its historic landscape and buildings of historic value.

Autumn in Melbourne is always beautiful, with many wonderful deciduous trees full of colour like this English Maple which I caught in all its glorious autumn livery one sunny early Autumn day in May.

Melbourne experienced a wonderful Indian summer this year, and as a result, not only are there still plenty of beautiful blooms about, but the Autumnal colours were brilliant.

Thank you to everybody that views, comments and for favouring my images. Always greatly appreciated.

Same Wood Fern the start of October. The Vine maple had just started it's seasonal show.

Autumn in Melbourne is always beautiful, with many wonderful deciduous trees full of colour like this Japanese Maple which is a favourite of mine. It changes colour later than most other trees around it, but when it changes colour, its autumnal livery is dazzling!

Maples are often thought of as a northern tree but here in Florida, we have a lot of native ones. Maples are deciduous, which means losing their leaves in winter. Such a beautiful view at the park with so many green leaves appearing.

This beautiful Maple Tree was draped in a misty morning fog when i first arrived.I took several shots and this one pleased my eye the most though most of the fog had lifted.Springbank Park is a popular place for a walk with your dog first thing in the morning here in London Ontario !

I thought the spring is here, but when opened window blind this morning, wow, it's winter again! This year's new leaves of this maple tree was covered by heavy snow.

I don't know why this American robin (Turdus migratorius) stood its ground for so long. It sang to me as I repositioned many times around the tree. There is a 'new' downspout nest nearby that it may have been defending its territory.
