I made this image on the new bridge, over the Dead River, on County 510 just west of Marquette, Michigan. A worker at the State Of Michigan Travel Information building pointed me to this site. I just asked him where I could get some good photos of the fall color. He got out a map and started circling different locations.
You need sunlight to make images like this and I was lucky that it was out at this time. Thirty minutes later clouds rolled in and stayed that way for the next three days. But, then we started concentrating on waterfalls which shoot well in cloudy conditions and all ended well.

Today I came across several large maple trees which were showing damages from the last ice storm. The broken limbs of certain maple trees that were still attached to the trunk by some miracle were all in bloom such as these.
We got walloped with a huge snow storm and a foot of snow a few days ago - even the birds were taking shelter!
Acer rubrum, "October Glory," one of three large maple trees with dense glossy foliage we had planted in 2016. This one just began to turn this remarkable hue! Open fields in the background. (We’ve had about 50 largish trees planted by now. More to come in Feb.)

Autumn in Melbourne is always beautiful, with many wonderful deciduous trees full of colour like these maple leaves, which are quickly gaining the rich gold, orange and red tones of the season.
Melbourne has experienced a wonderful Indian summer this year, and as a result, not only are there still plenty of beautiful blooms about, but the Autumnal colours are starting to appear.

Autumn in the Westonbirt Arboretum is always special. The range of colours displayed by famous acer collection in the Westonbirt Arboretum attracts tens of thousands of people every year in October. And it is worth all the efforts. Old Arboretum, Westonbirt, Gloucestershire, England.
A spot where I go kayaking a lot through the Summer until early Fall.I always see a lot of Painted Turtles along this shoreline.
