I've photographed this lone oak tree near Bartley reservoir a few times in different conditions, but usually around sunrise, looking towards the water (see my Trees album for a few other views of this tree). Today I visited just before sunset and set up looking the opposite direction, towards the woods. I used a narrow aperture of f20 to emphasise the sunburst effect and took 3 bracketed exposures to combine into HDR in Lightroom.
An old shed catches the late morning rays... which highlights the dust and rust at this old shed.
Found on farm property in Wisconsin!
(Played with saturation and Topaz detail)
Here's another of my shots of Duggers Creek Falls from the quick trip to the mountains on Saturday. I kept hoping I might get lucky with a ray of light coming in and then....boom there it was.

Just one of those moments on the moor, when the light suddenly is right and I happened to have my camera with me. I was shooting flying Curlew at the time, hence the fast shutter.
Each photo has a title, each photo has a meaning, each photo takes time to discover, photograph and edit.
This photo was dedicated to my wife for the 20+ years of marriage and all that shes been through. She is truly my ray of light and my strength.
The sunrise, light rays and low fog in this snow scene is what inspired me to take this photo.
I’ve not been here for a while, it’s always a challenge (for me) shooting in low light and this day was no exception.
A combo of Pshop Express, Luminar 4 and Snapseed for the processing. Minimise the noise, the keystoning and emphasise the sunlight were the aims.
At least I didn’t get struck by lightning while I was there!
I was driving when I saw this beautiful light cutting through the foggy trees. There was no place to safely pull over so all I could do was stop in the road and take a quick capture through my windshield. I wish I had more time to compose the shot - and take more! - but glad I got at least this one. Shout out to the driver behind me who was most patient with my photography antics. :)
We drove to the Hope Valley in California to see the fall colors in the Sierra Nevada mountains. On the way we passed by a walnut tree farm near Lockeford, where we noticed a lot of dust in the trees. We stopped, it was a good photo opportunity! It turned out that the walnuts just were getting harvested. One machine drove along the nicely arranged trees to shake them one by one to make the nuts fall to the ground, another machine arranged the fallen nuts and debris in the middle between tree rows, and a third machine scooped it up. All that created a lot of dust, to the delight of us three photographers.
I processed a balanced, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

A wonderful early morning shoot with the high spring tide and thick mist at Cotehele Quay. My photo buddie Nick Green can be seen eyeing up another composition.
I like Grackles.
They're so photogenic, they're everywhere, and they're smart. This one was sitting on a wire as I started my daily walk and it posed with a nice open-beak squawk :)
An empty cross, a risen Savior!
May we all follow His example, loving God, loving and serving others in need...
Happy Easter, everyone.
sorry, I have been away with work and will be for quite awhile! I hope to stop by visit my contacts and friends when possible! Stay happy everyone :-)

This was taken a few months back from Te Mata Peak looking over the misty Tukituki valley to the East. Hawke's Bay New Zealand.

The grass sways so gently in the wind. Dancing back and forth in beautiful harmony. The sounds of the wind that brushing the treetops are mesmerizing, gentle and rhythmic. The big old oak trees form a line inviting you to join the enchanted forest. They are the guardians, watching, feeling, inviting and singing in the wind.
This shot was taken with my Nikon D7200 and Sigma 24-105mm f4.0 art lens.
