A fascinating walk around the disused Dinorwig slate quarry, an amazing place to look back in time

Sun Ray thru window blind on tissue box.

From a short hike in Mårsätter.

Maybe not so free. Last one from Heswall Boatyard.

Looking West ( of course) at the setting sun off the southern coast of South Australia and the orange glow we sometimes get due to the dust in the air from the dry summer air. The birds are added from a previous photo taken a while later.

I previously posted an image taken with my phone from the same place. HSS

One from the archives which I found yesterday when trying to delete old shots. This was taken at Rhossili Beach at low tide and the blob to the right is the remains of the wreck of the City of Bristol paddle steamer which is only visible on spring tides. I did loads of sliding to try and make the shot even more moody - yesterday in the rain it suited the mood!

I am away from Flickr for a few days as hopefully some better weather so off to enjoy some beach life! Many thanks in advance for any comments and favs !

Hidden long the south western Izu coast lies majestic Senganmon.

It could be a long spoon but no, it's a ray of light illuminating a wave crest in the night sea.

A mystical moment in a field of herbs. Lightrays flood and give these magic moment.

Rays of light projected into the sky from the National Palace on the mountain of Montjuïc in Bacelona. Night photography taken at the viewpoint number 3 of Guinardó Park, just above the Hoop Child Viewpoint. In the background, we can see the National Palace of Montjuïc, from where rays of light are projected towards the sky. At the back, on the right, the Olympic Ring, and, highlighted by its height, the Montjuïc Communications Tower, also known as Calatrava Tower by the Valencian engineer Santiago Calatrava, who designed it for the Olympic Games of 1992. The National Palace, headquarters of MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalonia) is the work of Eugenio Cendoya and Enric Catà, under the supervision of Pere Domènech i Roura, son of the modernist architect Lluís Domènec i Montaner. It was built between 1926 and 1929 as the main venue for the 1929 Universal Exposition. In the Oval Room, King Alfonso XIII and Queen Victoria Eugenia presided over the inauguration ceremony.

A l'occasion de ma marche quotidienne en cette période de confinement, le ciel m'offre un cadeau incroyable ! During my daily walk in this containment period, i received an incredible gift from the sky

During a recent camping trip, the thing to do was head to the shoreline and watch the sunset. We didn't have many with color but in this case, I liked the way the sunlight came out from behind the clouds. The two guys in the foreground also had a photo lined up and were waiting for the perfect moment - the one on the far left with a DSLR and in the tank top on the right with a smartphone. The one on the right was running interference for the other - gently asking people that moved into the scene to back up a bit - and eventually giving up as people kept wandering in and out. I could sympathize with them as I've gone through the same myself - eventually embracing the presence of people to provide some perspective.

Night shot of the light house "Lange Jaap" in Huisduinen - Den Helder the Netherlands. Managed to capture the rays of light you see while it spins around. Was tricky to get this shot, as at the time it was raining and had to point my lens upward a little bit to get the light house fully in frame. You can see the rain drops blurred in the rays of light.

The light after a stormy afternoon in mid-May was so beautiful that I stopped to take a few shots. We could use some rain right now: it's been terribly hot. Cooler weather is expected tonight. I will be offline until early next week. Have a great weekend!
