Misty morning on the edge of the forest

Sunlight shines through dense particles in the air and a distinct ray pattern is made as the light shines through a pine tree stand late in the afternoon.

Job 17:12 “These [thoughts try to] make the night into the day; ‘The light is near,’ they say in the presence of darkness [but they pervert the truth].”

Sun Ray thru window blind on tissue box.

As the mist was thick in the valley, I was driving to several locations and found this tree along the road. While I hurried to find a safe parking place and set up the shot, I found myself flooded in golden morning light.

My favourite location for sunrises because of scenes like this!

A fascinating walk around the disused Dinorwig slate quarry, an amazing place to look back in time

A mystical moment in a field of herbs. Lightrays flood and give these magic moment.

Macro with Nikon Df on bellows.

I never expected mist when I opened the bedroom curtains so I was off out of the door. The camera batteries were charged and storage cards formatted as usual.

I headed to a local copse driving out of the fog and back into it…..I managed to catch these nice Autumn light rays.

The scene looks quite painterly!

One from the archives which I found yesterday when trying to delete old shots. This was taken at Rhossili Beach at low tide and the blob to the right is the remains of the wreck of the City of Bristol paddle steamer which is only visible on spring tides. I did loads of sliding to try and make the shot even more moody - yesterday in the rain it suited the mood!

I am away from Flickr for a few days as hopefully some better weather so off to enjoy some beach life! Many thanks in advance for any comments and favs !

During a recent camping trip, the thing to do was head to the shoreline and watch the sunset. We didn't have many with color but in this case, I liked the way the sunlight came out from behind the clouds. The two guys in the foreground also had a photo lined up and were waiting for the perfect moment - the one on the far left with a DSLR and in the tank top on the right with a smartphone. The one on the right was running interference for the other - gently asking people that moved into the scene to back up a bit - and eventually giving up as people kept wandering in and out. I could sympathize with them as I've gone through the same myself - eventually embracing the presence of people to provide some perspective.

Early morning at Penarth Pier , Penarth , South Wales .

Light rays from the sky , lighting up the wet sands .

Sony DSC-RX100M2 compact camera,

Rays of light projected into the sky from the National Palace on the mountain of Montjuïc in Bacelona. Night photography taken at the viewpoint number 3 of Guinardó Park, just above the Hoop Child Viewpoint. In the background, we can see the National Palace of Montjuïc, from where rays of light are projected towards the sky. At the back, on the right, the Olympic Ring, and, highlighted by its height, the Montjuïc Communications Tower, also known as Calatrava Tower by the Valencian engineer Santiago Calatrava, who designed it for the Olympic Games of 1992. The National Palace, headquarters of MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalonia) is the work of Eugenio Cendoya and Enric Catà, under the supervision of Pere Domènech i Roura, son of the modernist architect Lluís Domènec i Montaner. It was built between 1926 and 1929 as the main venue for the 1929 Universal Exposition. In the Oval Room, King Alfonso XIII and Queen Victoria Eugenia presided over the inauguration ceremony.

It could be a long spoon but no, it's a ray of light illuminating a wave crest in the night sea.

The light after a stormy afternoon in mid-May was so beautiful that I stopped to take a few shots. We could use some rain right now: it's been terribly hot. Cooler weather is expected tonight. I will be offline until early next week. Have a great weekend!
