At dawn, anything can happen...
1st real shot of 2015, hope it's good year for all! :)
Taken in spot X, Belfast, Northern Ireland
The sun sets across the North Fork Valley and paints the high meadow of Nelson Sods in luxurious greens.
Was heading to the coast the other morning but made a last minute detour to Herringfleet and was rewarded with a great sunrise, a little mist hangin on and even a picture book sunburst. Felt more like June than January.
one of those fleeting moments as the sun breaks through the fog. I couldn't decide between the colour or mono images...
Northern Arizona has made a lasting impression on me. It is no wonder ancient native civilizations populated this area. This view is from the Tuzigoot pueblo that was built 700-900 years ago with a sprawling 100 room complex atop a hill in this area.

This spot on Boston Harbor is a very common location for photographers and others who want to see fantastic evening views of the Boston Skyline. However, many of the photos taken at this location have a certain similarity. I was trying to avoid that in this picture by getting just the right angle to catch the sun rays as the sun dipped behind the skyscrapers.

Explored Sep 20, 2008
My last post of last Sunday's foggy morning :-) I know...I know..."YAY". It's either this or more Adirondack fog, Colorado, or Ricketts Glen! Actually...wait...I do have a couple more from Ricketts Glen...scratch that.
Anyway...I did tool with this just a fraction. I pulled back on the clarity to give it a softer feel and pushed the vibrance up a little to bring back the colors that were lost. I like the play of the light on the water's surface...but damn...doesn't this really need Bambi stopping by under those light rays for a drink of water?

Crop of an earlier image. Saguaros on sloping ledges in Finger Rock Canyon, north of Tucson. The steep sides of the canyon block the sunlight well before sundown, and the tall saguaros stay lit much longer. And the ocotillo, with their spray pattern as at lower left, catch the light only at the tips, giving a firework pattern in the center--zoom to see it better.

Lismore lighthouse taken from on the ferry during our crossing from Oban to Mull, you can see the rain in the light rays, quite a sight, luckily we missed the worst of it.
