Immaginare una scena come sarà con la luce giusta alza le aspettative ma anche le preoccupazioni. Non sempre si realizza ciò che immaginiamo, vale lo stesso per altre cose nella vita, ma a volte invece va anche meglio del previsto.
Colours and patterns arising from the interference of reflected light rays on a thin film of water and soap held in a tiny frame (a 'bubble wand'). The inner circle which I use for these photos measures 18mm but this shot, and two in the Comments, are just a tiny area within that circle.
Using some washing up liquid (Tesco's own brand!) with some water added - it's so tempting to try this out using different soaps! The colours are very slightly brightened - otherwise the soap film is completely natural.
Sony Alpha 100 SDLR camera with Cosina Macro 100mm lens; 1/125 sec at f/11 (ISO 200). No flash - lit by an office type angle-poised lamp.

A shot into the sun in a misty forest. The light bounces off the tree through the mist to create an eerie atmosphere. Took a number of exposures to get this one right!
Another of my creations from an early wake up! taken in Slaley Forest Northumberland, England.
Perth CBD, underground with two shards of light streaming down Wall from above.
I fixed exposure by locking speed on the gap in the ceiling, where the light came from. This in turn underexposed the rest of the picture.

As the storm passed, rays of light shun through the clouds on to the foothills of Snowdonia range. Taken on the amazing Nikon D850 and a random 105mm f1.4E that was already attached to the body as I was taking a few portraits earlier.
The fire lit, the winter sun shining through the window, shot at Beamish, but forgot which house this was in, my memory is getting worse in my old age lol.
One from this morning, I thought I had got it wrong as it didnt look like it was going to happen with the light and mist.. But it did as I predicted, just a bit later than I thought : )

Solent Sunset
With such a vast expanse of water to the south, there is normally a deep bank of cloud, mist or fog on the horizon - as there is here.
The cloud bank can be hundreds of feet deep.
This means the sun prematurely drops below the horizon, several minutes before true sunset should take place.
However, when the sky is clear and cloudless the array of colours can be wonderful.
Lightpaint marathon, night 6 of 8, scene 2b.
The same scenery as my previous image, added one additional exposure which i did at the end of the lightpainting so i have two versions.
Spending a night camping on the beach has been on my bucket list for a while, and this year I finally had a chance to bring some of my best friends to camp right on the Rialto beach in Olympic National Park. We slept with the sound of waves from pacific ocean and it was a great experience.
In the next morning, it got foggy and I saw this amazing light rays through the trees. What a wonderful scene to capture at the end of an amazing camping trip!
