I am so proud of this picture!! I sat on top of my truck for an hour during a lightning storm, with my old Canon Powershot and finally got this picture! It's no where near the quality of lightning picture I'd like to take with my new Nikon D5000 but it's a start. :)

I've tried for quite a while to shoot lightning. This one took about 600 exposures, as daylight forced me to use 1/4 sec shutter speed.

It is actually quite difficult to randomly catch a bolt of lightning with a point & shoot digital camera. But, alas, I do not yet have a dSLR camera which might have made it easier...
I could've set up my tripod, but that is probably not the smartest thing to do in a lightning storm. So, this slightly blurry photo is the best I could do.
