Lightning Strikes over the small town of Bourbon

I was trying to photograph lighting that was happening out at sea. I did manage to get a little lightning bolt hitting the water. Then I thought I'd trying stacking all the attempted exposures in a program for making startrail photos as there were stars visible above the clouds. This is the result. (12Feb08)

trial and error landed me this shot, it was on a long exposure so the lightning bolt was a bit brighter so i had to tone it down.. a few other adjustments, but i figured for my first set of lightning shots it wasn't so bad :)

Even after a head on collision, the SOAK Spinnaker Sheet Catcher continued to function on this Lightning.

More lightning flying through the clouds obscured in the distance.

The storm we had on May 30th finally gave me my first successful digital lightning shot. The sparks on the bottom left are rain drops on the window back lit by the street light from across the road.

30 second exposure at f22 iso 200. Straight from the camera, no retouch.

It was a ways away, so these are cropped.
