Whilst on holiday in Gale, Portugal; there was a little storm. My first time capturing a storm and it was an experience to say the least!
A couple of photos blended together of some of the forked lightning seen during last nights storm. Out of over 300 shots taken, only these 2 were worth keeping.
Strong gust front thunderstorm with some nice cg lightning SW of Springfield, IL.

10th July 2015 from the west cliff, luckily this week I was not directly under the rain, lightning and floods. not many strikes got 4 of them.

I had just gotten a Sportsmobile and was off on my first adventure when I was lucky enough to encounter some bad weather and captured this nice lightning strike over the mesas.

This Monday evening I planned a short chase to the dutch northwest coast and drove to Callantsoog. After watching a few distant daylight storms in the northwest, a new storm headed exactly to my location. It became darker and all I had to do was wait......
Yesterday we had severe thunderstorms here in Chicago and I tried to capture some of it as much as I could. Obviously the storm and rain does not help, but hey nothing is for free...
During the course of the years most of my lightning photographs were shot with a wide angle lens. Here the lightning was at a distance of about 16 kilometers (10 miles) and I used a short telephoto lens. It turned out very well.....
